Me and my wife started to vape together and I have picked it up no problem and dont miss smoking. My wife is still buying cigs and seems to only vape around me. I help set up her ego so she just has to vape without any hassel. And I am trying to tell her I want to do this together, but she picks up a cig and I vape. Is it just going to take time? I know it comes down to a habbit but I sometimes find myself picking up a cig and after a puff or two my throat hurt and I cant stand the taste. So it is making it hard on my to be a arround a cig and maybe it is because I am new to this but could use some advise? Thank you.

I've seen, in my circle of friends, where the spouse really gets into vaping and does everything short of holding the unit for their spouse. It hasn't worked to date. The vaper-to-be has to be personally involved with their own journey from what I've seen.

I have friends who still smoke, it is getting to be fewer, but as time goes on, they ask me about getting started. I explain it and drop it. When they ask the second time I will help them get started. While I'd like all my smoking friends to switch, it isn't going to happen unless they have some desire. Cigarettes have hundreds of years of development behind them to make them a quick easy way to get a nicotine fix. They are easy, quick, and known. E-cigs don't have that so there has to be something in the mind of the smoker that makes them think and gives them something to actually try.

I'd say just keep vaping and let your spouse do what they wish. If you lead by example only it can be amazing how many followers you can gain.

Two years ago in March I bought (after much discussion) 2 kits. My husband had been trying to quit, and even though I didn't want to quit, I figured I'd give it a try for 'him'. I'd smoked for nearly 40 years and had my last cigarette the day I started vaping. On March 20th I'll be 2 years smoke free, he's still smoking.

Hoosier is right. My husband will vape from time to time, but I have to fill and clean the cartos/clearos and charge the batteries. I've even made him purchase some supplies so he'd have a vested interest in process, but no such luck. Unless they really want to, it ain't gonna happen.

Another angle to try is WTA liquid. Nicotine-only doesn't cut it for some smokers, they need the other active alkaloids in tobacco.

If you still have cravings then WTA is the way to go.

Another answer is that the hardware you give a person may not suit them. However there is no real way to fix this, because the journey to find the right solution requires motivation. If they're not interested, then it's a dead end. Maybe in time they will figure out that there is a better way. Sometimes it takes a health shock though.
