I have only had my e cig for 2 days, how easy is it to give up smoking then e cigs?

I am 49 years old been smoking for 35 years and tried everything to quit! Zyaban(sp) Champix, patches, gum, nicotine suckers,Hypno, acupuncture you name it.

I am at 2 days with "No Nicotine" Carto,s because i cant get ones with it in Australia but have only had one bad craving episode yesterday afternoon which soon went.

I am a 50 a day smoker ( haven't smoked for 2 days) but am quite positive that its not the nicotine i am addicted to so thats why I have started the e cig.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi fishtaco, you may find it difficult without the nic juice. If you need some let me know, I can help you out. I'm in Dianella.

I was a 35 a day smoker for 40 years and started with 24mg juice. I'm now down to 18mg and just like it there. Just coming up to 1 year off the smokes.

Welcome and let me know if you need the nic.

I can only speak to my results. I have not wanted an analog cig since I picked up the e-cig. I went for about 6 months without an analog, and then some stressful situations caused me to begin smoking again. I went another 6 months smoking, and now I have been back vaping since April 1. I do not desire to smoke at all now. Of course I do have some rather high nic liquids, but I am not sure if the nic makes that much difference because I also vape some very low nic liquids. I had been a pipe smoker for 40 years and at least a pack a day smoker for about 30 years or so, and the desire to light up is no longer there.

Impossible to say whether it will work for you or not. But, two days without more cravings than you've experienced is a good sign. You say you don't think your addiction is strongly chemical. And, you've made two days without nicotine ... Congratulations are in order for that alone!

I stopped smoking on day one with my first PV. And, like you, I feel my addiction was more the physical habit than chemical addiction to nicotine. But still, I did have nicotine in my juice. In fact I'm still using rather high 30-36mg juice more than a year later, and quitting nicotine is not a serious concern to me.

Others have suggested ways for you to get the nicotine. If you feel it would help you stay away from cigarettes, do what you can to get it. Or if you really feel you can make it without ... good for you!

I wish you the best of luck!

I am fairly new, but I have come to a few conclusions:

Everyone is different, I believe it has to do with brain chemistry and the effect tobacco smoke inhalation has on the neuro transmitters and receptors in the brain. Many people seem to pick up the e-cig and stop smoking that instant apparently without many withdrawal sysmptoms. Others, myself included, suffer severe withdrawal from tobacco when switching. I am dealing with virtually identical symptoms to a friend who quit cold turkey recently. Regardless, I do believe the nicotine from the e-cig does help but I also believe, and IMHO, much more important than "hand to mouth"(but every little bit helps) the act of inhaling something into the lungs and exhaling the vapor is a tremendous help. So I do believe that Nicotine eliquid would help you, and certainly SNU's would help. unless you want to break the tobacco addiction as well as the smoking addiction. However, I do believe even a 0 Nic e-cig can be beneficial while quitting.

so, although there can be some difficult withdrawal from quitting smoking cigarettes, you can do it. Hang in there and Good Luck!

I think its the lung thing or actually drawing something into my lungs is half the problem solved.

Usually on attempted quits i am climbing the wall at this stage.

I only have a cheap Chinese e cig and have gone through 4 carto,s in 2 days but terrified i wont get any refills before my initial 10 are gone!

Damn, I was just down at the Inglewood pub having a beer!!! Could have dropped it off. We've just moved from Third Avenue!!

No worries, I'll send you a PM with some contact details to set you up.

Payment problem will not be because of PayPal with the sites I think you are trying to access. I've used PayPal every time for a year, but there are other issues that I think I can fix.

Look out for the PM and we'll chat.

BTW: Can fix you up for approx 2 weeks supply at no charge for the juice, after all it would be illegal to sell nic juice here!!!:laugh:

Cheers.

I am fairly addicted to the nic in analogs. I have gone about 2 weeks now and slowed down a lot. from 20/day to 10/day.

I use a 26mg nic juice in my 510 and it doesn't seem adequate. so I am about to to order something else.

There are ways to get the nic juice in AU from what I understand but it would be advantageous for you to stick with 0 nic if it is working.

Best of luck to you!

You must be addicted to the actions of smoking real smokes rather then the nicotine because you are getting more nic from your 510 then cigs (unless your 510 is defective). You need to toss out all your cigs and start anew. Do your normal habbits you do when you smoke but use your e-cig. If you go outside to smoke then go outside and smoke your ecig. Take huge ... drags and hold them in as long as you can (like a joint). Maybe order 36mg liquid.

Will they help you stop smoking?

Only you can say.

CAN they help you stop smoking?

Oh hell yes!

A lot of us here are former smokers who succeeded using e-cigs when everything else seemed not to work.I've been smoke free for more than a month. Unlike other quit attempts (even when it went longer than a month) I really feel glad to have stopped, and happy and satisfied with the alternative I've found. Before I always missed it so badly. You quit smoking cause smoking shortens your life, but if you want to die without your cigs, then it all seems confusing.

And this is the first time I've ever not been wishing I could smoke again. :)

Sounds like you've made some friends in your area. :) Really important.

Is nicotine really important? Well...it may not have been the biggest part of your addiction. BUt if you've been consuming it for so long (and 50 a day is a LOT) then you are physically addicted to it.

Will getting it in your juice reduce the cravings? Almost certainly.

Will it transfer your addiction to the juice? Very possibly, or at least sort of.

Here's my view- if you really CAN make it through this, without more suffering than you're willing to undergo, without nic, then I suppose you might as well. Why not be addiction free, if that's a reasonable possibility. (And for some people, it is.)

But if you're too unhappy without the nic, then get the nic. In your juice. It's a no-brainer. It's so much better than going back to smoking...if you need it, get it.

Best of luck,
Ande
