I'm happy new technology is coming out.
But am also concerned if 18650s will be readily available 10yrs from now.
My FDA plan depends on the 18650 size.
With some alterations I may be able to squeeze one into a REO.

18650s are pretty ubiquitous. I don't think there's much to worry about in the near future.

    I hope so.
    This statement makes me concerned:
"1.18650 size was developed for notebooks and camcorders –that market has been changed.
2.High demand for more energy lead to larger battery packs–18650 is not ideal size for them.
3.Larger packs with 18650 cells need a complicated BMS."

Yeah, you might be right, technology does have a habit of changing overnight, while you're not looking. Hopefully this whole mess will work itself out and we'll be back in business at some point. I find it hard to believe that there will be a lasting probation on ecigs.

When someone brings out a new model of something/battery, they're not going to praise how great the batteries on the market already are, but hopefully you'll think ours are cuter. They'll dis the "competition".

I guess at worst you could just buy a Tesla, yank the wires out from under the dash, and tape the ends up onto a switch. Battery life should be amazing, and you get a free charge at a Tesla Superstation to keep you electric bill low from all that vaping.:D
