Will the kayfun light work well with a high % of vg

I use 50%/50% in all my Kayfun Lites and it wicks perfectly. I am sure I could increase the VG some and still not have wicking problems. I use organic cotton balls sometimes and I use Peaches and Cream yarn sometimes.
Today I am vaping one of the Kayfun Lites with a 1.6 ohm coil with a yarn wick at 12 watts using 50%/50% Butter Pecan.

I have 100%vg in all of my kfl+'s without any problems. After about 10 hits, I usually cover the air hole and give a quick pull. I've never had any wicking problems with organic cotton.

If you have authentic kayfuns, I wouldn't want to do this, but if you have clones, have you considered filing out the wick wells to work better with your liquid?

iv tried going light on the wick, and tried with a thicker wick, but still getting burnt hits unless I really screw down the air adjustment to the point of barely getting airflow.......

Not to hijack but anyone know where I can find an 18 guage needle (in the wild) to fill my russian clone ? I keep getting leaking from the air hole so I'm guessing this is why.
I have both authentics and clones. I drilled out the air hole on one of the clones today, and I was thinking the same thing. The 2 channels don't meet all that great in the corner so I want to try opening them up on the next rebuild.

Is it flooding before you hit it, and just pouring out of it non-stop? Can you take a picture of your deck, so I can see your wick wells?
I don't have any issues with my KF and vaping 100% VG boba's bounty. I don't need to cover the air hole either. It's completely dependent on your coil and wick
I had wicking issues at first so i went with less cotton still had issues then i did some research here and tightened down the airflow but i still had problems read another post tada i was glueing the wicks to the build deck as far from the juice channels as possible this is what i was doing wrong you want the wicks to sit on top of the channels not jammed in butvresting on top now i dont have any issues with 80% vg juice and the airflow screw removed completely mine is the tobecco kfl clone cant afford the real deal

I tend to use pretty much 100% VG juices; or if not 100%, very high in VG . I find my best builds for all my KayFuns (KFL, KFL+, and KF 3.1) are around 1.3-1.6 ohms built around a 2mm screwdriver. Too low a resistance, or too small a coil diameter (such as 5/64") and it seems the wick struggles to keep up with the coil due to the thick viscosity of the juice.
Cotton wick from a ball, rolled-not twisted, medium drag when pulling through the coil. By medium, I mean I want to feel some resistance from the wire, but not enough resistance to move the coil. (It's a hard thing to explain, that's about the best I can come up with.) Fluff up the ends of the cotton, trim to deck, place as thezoo does on the post above ^ kinda spread out along the edge of the deck.
On the 3.1 and +, I'm running the airflow pretty much wide open, no dry hits, no priming necessary. YMMV of course, this setup suits my vaping style.
BTW, I use them on a Provari at 11 watts (again, depending on juice flavor) or on mechs -

I had to increase the vg. My russian loves vg. 1.4ohm micro coils 28ga kanthal with cotton. Stick the wick to the deck walls with the liquid to avoid blocking the holes. Air has to be able to escape out the liquid ports to balance the pressure in the tank. If the wick blocks the ports you create a vacuum. No air out equals no liquid in.
A side question:I use 80/20 pg/vg. I've read often higher vg dims the flavor. does it dim it much ? I would like to try a higher VG every so often when vaping I kinda get a flat taste (vapers tongue?) I love my Hawaiian punch sweet. as my ADV.

I think you just have just gotten lucky with using the perfect amount of wick, that swells up to cover up the wells. The vacuum in the tank is how the system works/prevents leaking.
