Will the KSD Kmax provide the safety I need for rebuilding my own heads and running RBA's?

Ask yourself these questions:

Does it have short protection?
Does it have an ohm checker?
Can I check the ohms without it firing?
Does it have battery protection circuits?
Does it have reverse battery protection?
Does it have 510/ego connections?

Many people use a mech for rebuilding, which has none of those features. The Kmax has short circuit protection and can check the resistance, so it should work great without the need for a separate device for checking resistance.

Many people think they are being safe when they are not also and many people have a lot of experience with building and a knowledge of design.

It only takes one moment of distraction.
Safety first in all things.:)

Here's some Advice and Tips for Vapors Looking to Try Their First RBA. There are links to some very important information resources that will answer all the questions you may have.

I'm not familiar with the mod you mentioned, but a couple of the above information resources deal with mod and battery safety issues in general. I recommend using brand-name high quality (AW, Panasonic, MNKE) safe chemistry IMR batteries and a Vape Safe Mod Fuse. Do your homework and research and always vape safe.

In the mean time while I decide on a RBA and APV

With the Ohm meter I have ordered can I try my hand at rebuilding a Viva Nova and a Protank to be used on an Ego Twist? I currently use the 2.4 Ohm and I have no intentions on going below 2.0

IMO that's perfectly safe and a very good idea ericsp.
