WillyZ's DIY Starter Kit ...

Today marks the day I have been smoke free for 45 days ...
After reading hours and hours of DIY threads here on ECF ... I created and ordered my custom DIY Kit today.

Here is what I ordered ...

500ml of Propylene Glycol USP (ordered from local SDM pharmacy ... arrives tomorrow)
240ml of Vegetable Glycerine USP Kosher
120ml of Base 48mg Vegetable Glycerine USP ... will break this down to 480ml of 12mg Nicotine juice @ 50/50 PG/VG

​Flavours ...
10ml Capella Apple Pie
10ml Capella Sweet Tangerine
10ml Capella Peaches and Cream
10ml Capella Sweet Strawberry
10ml Capella New York Cheesecake
10ml The Flavor Apprentice Blueberry Extra
10ml The Flavor Apprentice Green Apple
10ml The Flavor Apprentice Toasted Marshmallow
10ml The Flavor Apprentice Sour
5 grams of Etyl Maltol

5ml, 10ml and 30ml bottles
18guage 5ml syringes
package of gloves



Now I am just waiting for the local VapeMailMan to arrive and begin my journey into DIY ...

I am in Canada, so everything ships local from Toronto for $10 ... I have had great success ordering from CanVape (if this order gets processed tomorrow, it should arrive Friday).

I'd have issues with measuring flavoring with only 5ml syringes, but everything else looks great.

A few 1ml syringes will serve you better for measuring when making test batches. But your off to a nice start.... Good luck.

The place I ordered from only had the 5ml ... however, I do see the importance in your advice on the 1ml and will find them.

Wow ... everything is coming together nicely ... CanPost has confirmed my order will deliver tomorrow ... and Shopper's Drug Mart called me today and I picked up the 500ml of Propylene Glycol USP for $6.79 and ten 1ml syringes for $5 ... giddyup Cowboys

more stuff I picked up to be ready for the weekend ... those little 3mil tanks, I keep in ice cube trays labeled, I use them on an ECA for my eVic ... they are only a buck each from my supplier CanVape.

WhooHoo ... everything just showed up ... I mixed 1/2 tsp of the Etyl Maltol with 20ml of PG and letting it simmer in a bowl of hot water.

Next is to dilute the BASE down creating 480ml of 12mg Nicotine juice

I am mixing 240ml PG with the 120ml 48 BASE VG and 120ml VG ... leaving me an extra bottle each of 120ml PG and 120ml VG.

50/50 is my target right now to keep things simple.



OK now ... lets mix some ejuice up

Just finished mixing my first ejuice flavour ... Green Apple.

I am a big fan of Green Apple ... so I whipped up 10ml with 10% flavour ... I must say that I am impressed as it tastes pretty good.

I will let it steep overnight and see if it gets better ... however, bottom line is ... I am already enjoying this flavour as is.

I think I am really going to enjoy DIY ejuice making

a buck and a half to make a 30ml. bottle of you know what's in it, compared to 15 bucks for something that may not be as good as yours.
it's a game changer... now we have 2 separate vaping hobbies!

Thanks for stopping by JulesXsmokr ... I totally agree with you on the double hobby thing.

I have now mixed 5 flavours ... all 10ml with 10% flavour ... gonna leave the caps off tonight and check them out tomorrow

They should be quite easy to adjust if any of the flavours need tweeking.

Now I need some custom labels

Nice startup!!
I never bother steeping my stuff with the tops off.
Steeping is, of course, somewhat mystical, but I've only open-top-steeped things that come to me smelling bad (like chemicals, perfume, or alcohol). And none of my DIY stuff has that smell. Unless your flavorings have that super-strong smell, you may not need to risk the tipover, and could steep as I do - just shaking daily, and waiting patiently (kind of - I tend to swipe a few mls the next day).

I saw "Orange Tang" on your label, and thought to myself, "Self, you like TANG, it's the drink that went to the moon! You should vape some Tang, ask for his recipe!".
Then I looked at your flavors and realized, it's probably Tangerine.

Anyone have a recipe that tastes like TANG, the powdered juice stuff?
It's a "happy flavor" for me, cause I drink the stuff when I go camping with my kid.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on steeping Train2 ... today was my first day of DIY and I don't know what is in Capella's or the TFA concentrates ... I am looking forward to see how they taste tomorrow.

Well ... I tested all 5 flavours today with a fresh atomizer on each ... I must admit, I am quite impressed with my first DIY project.

Only the Blueberry seemed a little weak ... so I upped the flavour to 15% on that one and now all 5 flavours are very vapeable
