I just started watching Farscape. I've only seen a few episodes so far.

It gets better and better as time progresses.

Exact opposite for me.. Couldn't put the remote down when I fired up Firefly.. Farscape, OTOH... I'm in the process of slogging through it just because I don't like starting something and not finishing it. While it has its good points (like characters evolving, unpredictable actions, interesting moral dilemmas), too often they push an episode just for the sake of pushing an episode instead of doing it in order to advance the story or develop a character/concept. Often-times it feels forced and it's not a pleasure to watch.

I couldn't get into firefly enough to know how well it's written or if I would care about the characters, I mean it's certainly no walking dead which hooks you by the third episode..of course neither is Farscape.

I may revisit it since I have Netflix, but I don't see my opinion changing.

I stopped watching the walking dead a few seasons ago. I was a big fan of the comic though.
