I miss "old school"... I crave it... does anyone even remember before cell phones? Before "Alexa"?
I remember the days before cell phones. Good times, privacy felt like it was still a valid concept. Heck, I didn't even own a landline until my mid-20's. The way I looked at it then is that if someone wanted to talk to me, and it's important, they'll come talk to me in person. I had a lot more peace of mind then, than I do now. Now, everything is 'connected'. My phone I'm typing this on has more power than super computers did back then. I used to live in the country with gravel roads, now we are considered suburban, they're building 200k-350k houses out here on cow pastures I once roamed as a child. It's strange to me that in todays world a dog pissing is considered ok, but a person pissing outside could result in a lawsuit and jail time. Yep, I'm feeling a bit nostalgic right now.

Love my Kanger subtanks! Do you make your own coils or use drop ins? They are the only tanks I have used since early 2017. Do you know any site that has any left for sale?

Kanger Wholesale has them on clearance for $5. I recently added a few more to my stash.

I really can't afford to buy vaping stuff I want (or even need) I find the clearance sales and get what I can... BUT there is this part of me that wants a mech... old school thing... must have just one... like this one:
RJ Mod Zodiac Mod
Year of the Rat BTW.

I've been looking at those too recently!

In my case it'd be a Year of the Tiger - Destiny = Work according to Chinese Astrology - which I suppose is why while I'm looking at being 70 shortly I'm in the process of buying another holiday house near the sea and the Highlands to make over!

I'll be 63 in a few months. I remember no internet . My first 'online' experience at home was in the mid '90's with a 486 with 4 mb of ram, Windows 3.11 (anyone remember autoexec.bat and config.sys?), a 14.4 baud modem that had to be manually configured and a BBS. About a year and a half later I got internet access. That was really neat :)

I don't miss those days. I admit it, I'm a bit of a nerd. The increasing pace of change since then was a bit hard to get used to for a while, but once I did I enjoyed it. I don't embrace all the new stuff, I don't do Facebook or Twitter, I try not to let my phone control me and I'm pretty security aware. I use what works for me and it's worked pretty well for me so far. The way I see it we have it pretty good now overall. Hopefully it stays that way.

@Ryedan Milege in what you say! I missed out on the early days of home computing ( thankfully ) and we didn't have computers in the house until the late 90s when they were a bit more user friendly.

In fact it was my wife that said we had to learn ( I agreed when I discovered that if we went to the local college's free introduction to home computing day they'd give you a voucher for a free pie and a pint in the nearby club!).

When we first got mobile phones - she sent me a message saying did I want to meet her when I finished work that evening and trying to reply I somehow signed up for a daily horoscope reading, a daily bible text and a weather update and we had to get a friend to sort my phone out. I gave up trying to reply to the message and phoned her in the end!

Oh yes, and that accursed first phone was a "Candy Bar" shaped effort and Pay as You Go where you had to buy a voucher for it, scratch off the secret number and then enter it into the thing before it would even think about co-operating.

We got one each - Instruction 1 said to install the SIM Card. We hadn't a clue what one was and couldn't find one in the box, so after turning the living room over in case we had dropped it somewhere we trooped back to the phone shop where a nice young man took pity on the aged by not smirking at us and telling us that the instructions were wrong and that the SIM Card had already been installed!

Aye the rare ould days (not!)

Note to Self - well done Gerry you have managed to derail your own thread, remember to apologise to the Nice People!

Id be happy to vape like the old days but as soon as I switch to something newer, the old stuff tastes bad. Just one of those things with some folks...
(gettin yer thread back on track) :)
I got a boatload of cartomisers I'd hate to have to use again. Luckily, the only item I bought bulk.

Damn, I missed out on that free pie and beer

My first cell phone was also a flip phone on a pay as you go deal and it made phone calls and did texts just fine. Didn't get into a smart phone until I felt I needed one for work. Now I sometimes find I'm on it way too much so I turn down the ringer and text notification volume and ignore it for a few hours just to piss it off :)

I'm still vaping may Kayfun Lite clone every day, spring ,summer, fall and winter. It sits atop a Geek Vape Solo though.

    Oh....I hate winter!

Same here with the Kayfun Lite clone on an iStick Pico 75W. I have a Kayfun 2019 on an iStick that I vape here and there. The rest reside in a back box for later use after I finally wear out the working attys.

I've filled up a fairly large cabinet with attys, mods, and other vape paraphernalia. Kayfuns are like old friends. I probably have more than a dozen still in their boxes with another half a dozen wicked and tested. More than I'll ever need is my goal with the government stepping in and trying to make us smoke again.
