Thanks a lot to everybody. Good info. Will try TC.

And this is a tough part. I vape at 12-15W, sometimes go to 20-25W when I need a fast (a few draws) nicotine fix. I tried 0.5 ohm Subtank coils at 30W, hated it. Yesterday I tried 0.3 ohm Melo 3 coil at 30 and 60 W, hated it even more. Popping sounds, hot tank, hot mod, vape is harsher but not more satisfying... So, I'll try to build TC coil close to 1 ohm (I believe it is upper limit for TC mode). As I see there is no consensus on wire material, so I just use coil calculator to find what is best in resistance for me. Building single coil, 3 mm, 28 AVG, 1 ohm I need 73 (!) wraps of Ni wire, so no nickel; 14 wraps for Ti and 9 wraps for SS 316L. 9 wraps sounds much better than 14, so I'll try SS coils.
1 ohm with TC is pretty high with anything but SS. I've tried Nickel, NiFe, Ti all are low resistance. I also hated the .5ohm Kanthal head. I couldn't even get to 30 watts tastes burnt and hot. As far as what resistance to vape at all depends on the wire and the atty. With a Kanger STM 6 wraps spaced of 26 fits well I've heard you can get 7 in there too but the resistance doesn't make that big a diff, the mod takes care of that. From what I have understood the lower the TCR of a wire the more accurate the TC is SS has the highest and Nickel has the lowest. I know that people try SS and there mod will kick them right out of TC into VW because of the resistance. So you don't have to have a 1ohm coil for TC. Lots of guys use 24awg Ti and 6 wraps gives you about .18ohms so when doing TC don't worry about the ohms of your coil just wrap what fits in your atty well and the mod will take care of the rest. As long as you don't go below what the mod will handle which I think yours in TC is .05. When I first tried TC I got a DNA40 VS and I forget what the lowest it would go but I had to wrap a pretty big coil with Nickel which was all that there was at that time. I hated it. Nickel is a PITA anyway and to have to wrap a 10 or 12 wrap spaced coil is just to hard for my hands to handle. And for me having to wrap around a screw is hard cause my hands shake I just wrap a contact coil with a coilmaster and stretch it out then squeeze it back together and voila perfectly spaced coil.

I learned this the hard way myself! Yesterday I tried to build a semi-high resistance coil out of 22ga 316l SS on a Theorum. I did something like 15? wraps to get a .6 ohm build. It was a TIGHT fit! But the Pico kept kicking me out of TC and going to wattage. Put the stock notch coil in, and all was well with it.
I've lots to learn about this TC and it seems the more I learn, the less I like it and the more it eats my batteries faster! I can get the same vape from a Kanthal build and make my batteries last three times as long!

I'll tell you about my vaping. When I started I thought well this is ok but not something I'd quit smoking over. I tried all kinds of stuff that was available in 08 then in 09 when I joined ECF it was still ok the equipment was getting better I was on the list for the first VV mod to come out the Provari wow what a difference but the attys were still lacking some till I got a Nautilus I was in heaven then someone told me about the Kayfun so I grabbed an authentic right when they were first out close to 100bucks they told me to wrap a 1.5ohm coil and I was in heaven again with my Provari and Kayfun Lite. Somebody else told me I had to try TC so I did and hated my DNA40 one of the first and I hated nickel it was so hard to work with because the DNA40 at that time had such a high lowest resistance it would vape and I gave up on it went back to my PV and KF. Then I got my 2nd SX my first was an S VV VW all of a sudden I could build a coil that wasn't humumgus and it worked. YiHi was the first one to come out with a workable resistance. I had problems finding an atty that worked well when the Kanger STM came out and worked great. I was in heaven again. Then Ti came out and it took quite a while before I decided it was safe to use so I tried it. It was easier to work with and made the juice taste even better then Nickel. Iwas in heaven one more time now a lot of the guys that tought me about Ti have switched to SS but some are like me diehard Ti users. So with all that that is why I like YiHi so much they were really the first to make a decent TC device now you can get them for under $40 and I stick with Ti cause I have no problems with it especially this Temco. I never have one burn out, easy to clean, easy to use. I'm happy.

Oh and I just remembered the word that I couldn't way back when, Subjective. Everything about vaping is subjective, what works for one might not for another. I've spent 8 years to get what I really like and now the FDA wants to take that away. Well not for at least 10 years or more if I live that long. I've hoarded over time and I am ready.
