Just bought a bunch of parts and about to get into modding the noob route with a basic plastic box mod. My question is this, has anyone here ever used wire glue, and if so what are the pros/cons versus soldering the old fashioned way?

Didn't even know it was available until you mentioned it. From what I see you have to let it dry overnight. I think I prefer my soldering iron, since that is a lot quicker. Also, you might want to consider the resistance of the Glue Connection, whatever that is.

I am also finding out that this stuff is high resistance compared to say copper or a good solder connection. It is also suggest for low voltage and low current applications.

A typical connection might be around 1 ohm or so. So if you intend to use it on these atty's, you are looking at an additional 1 ohm, which will probably get hot, and then probably break it's bond.

I ain't gonna use it. :p

Althouhg, I have never used it. Perhaps you should try it, if you already have it, and let us know how it went?:2cool:

Old thread, but wanted to add numbers on resistance. 13.16 Ohms per cubic centimeter. Definitely would not use it for a huge number of connections and would only use small amounts per connection, but for something like a box mod, the amount used would likely only add a few milliohms of resistance.

Looks neat, but solder is the tried and true method. :toast:

That stuff sucks big time . I have some i got a long time ago because of talks about it and i will never touch it again . I do electronics work for a living too . That stuff is like water thin and takes a couple days to cure so that alone makes it useless . Who wants to wait 2 days for something that could be soldered in two seconds . I can etch boards faster then letting that cure . lol
