I use the running water technique, and replace the coil about once a week or 2 weeks. An average vaper at about 2 - 300 puffs a day. If busy, 100 plus. Using SS coils on TC and it's a huge difference to kanthal. When I was on kanthal, I change about 3-5 days when I taste burnt taste. With SS, hardly until about a week into it. Then clean and vape on.

Using steel brush might deform the coils no? Just heat coil til red and give a hard blow, or use a ceramic tweezer and lightly scrap it. Should be able to remove most gunk.
Some heat til red hot, release button and put coil under running water. But some commented the process is like annealing the coil, not sure good or not.. But just make sure the deck/coil is pointed downwards so as not to get water into the 510..

So how many times u do that to each coil before u decide to throw them away? And u remove them from ur mod right when u do it??
for me if i dry burn and dab the coil still looks like metal (grey), ill reuse, but if after dry burning +dab i find that my coils have turned rust colored, ill throw away, for some of my attys ill also judge by the taste... if its muted, or tastes weird ill change my coil

Noted. Useful. Thanks. This morning I tried the dry burn method. Aft I dipped the burning red coil in water, the gunk could be seen really thick I had to scrape it. Done scraping, my oh my the coil looks new. Hahahaa. . I'm so happy!

Hahah, will give a try and report how it goes (about the steel brush) the bristle do look soft though, like steel wool

VG tends to leave a film and juice pigments on glass and in crevices. The cheapest baking soda toothpaste and toothbrush to clear off these soft solids. Will not leave any significant aftertaste. Mini and micro nylon brushes to get into air slots large and small in atty's and coil assemblies. Disposable mascara brushes may also be useful. Works great short of running all through a sonic cleaner (although I do that too periodically).

You get vaporization by way of an effective contact area with the wick. The more efficient that you make that in relationship to air and juice flow the more conversion you get. More actual vapor vs. diffusion, more flavor. Simple formula.

This also helps you stave off premature accumulation in wick and on wire.

Thirty seconds to an outstanding repeatable baseline vape.

Tensioned Micro Coils. The next step.
Protank MicroCoil Discussion!!

Everything else is fun. Meetya there.

Good luck.

:)
