This may seem like a simple question, and I have done a search for the answer but didn't find what I was looking for. What are the advantages and disadvantages to the different gauges of wire. I am somewhat new to rdas and rtas.
Welcome to the ECF. the thicker (lower) gauge wires will build a coil at lower OHMs. wrapping 2 identical coils with (for example) 28 ga and 26 ga, the 26 ga will have a lower resistance. here is a great place to learn about it. Steam Engine | free vaping calculators
personally i prefer thicker wire like 26 & 24 ga because it is easier to make neat coils with.
I currently have a eleaf and a ipv mini running a lemo and a plume vail, the lemo has 24 gauge 7 wraps at about .5 ohms, I am trying to figure out what to do about the plume vail,
I would shoot for the same range and see how you like it. If I am correct, I don't think your eleaf will fire below 1 ohm though. what are you useing for wick?
I know this isn't really a wire related question, but I didn't feel like starting a new thread. What ribbon gauge would you guys recommend for someone who likes to vape around .3 - .5 ohms
