Wiring question - kill switch, momentary switch, 5v regulator

Hey all -

Been waiting a while for all my parts to get here from the various sources to build my 5v mod. I'm building one pretty much identical to youfillintheblank's using 2 CR2's in a 2AA box.

I have been searching the forum for a bit and havent found any info, and I'm hoping that someone could assist me with the wiring for the mod.

I have a kill switch built into the box, a momentary switch, a 5V regulator.

I think I have this right.

What I plan to do is to wire positive line from the positive contact for the battery through the momentary switch, then through the voltage regulator, and to the inside of the 801 battery connector. I also have to wire the negative line from the negative contact for the battery, through the voltage regulator, then to the outside of the battery connector. Someone correct me if I am not right?

How do I wire up the kill switch so the momentary switch wont activate?

Here are the pics so far, everything is done minus the wires. This is my first mod, so it's not very clean

Black wire from negative battery to switch center pin
Black wire from ON side of the kill switch to the atty and the center pin on the VR
Red wire from positive battery to momentary switch
Red wire from the other side of the momentary to the VR-IN
Red wire from VR-Out to center of the atty

It does not have to be 2 complete wires from the switch to the VR and Atty. The switch and the Atty could both be soldered to the Gnd on the VR

Check you VR documentation to make sure I have the correct pins for the reds as you did not list what model your using.

Thanks cybervex, exactly what I was looking for. I'll double check the docs on the VR, it's a Ti UCC283T-5.

What model momentary switch is that? Can you post a pic of the other side?

I bought my switch from Digi-Key - Digi-Key - GH1365-ND (Manufacturer - 30-3)
