Hello all,

I've been lurking around the forums for about a week now reading various threads and soaking up the wealth of info they provide. I've found this to be a great place to learn about vaping.

I've been a smoker for at least 20 years. For the last 6-7 years I've tried just about everything under the sun to quit smoking. I've probably spent just as much money on patches as I did on cigs. I've had various lengths of not smoking. My biggest problem has been that I spend ALOT of time around smokers in places filled with smoke. I'm a musician of the "weekend warrior" variety. The bands I play with are booked just about every weekend. So during the week, I would(for the most part) do pretty good with the patch, but I've not made it through a weekend without buying at least 2 packs of smokes in a long, long time.

I'm happy to say that since I've picked up an Ego (my actual first was a cig-alike, but...) starter kit 2 weeks ago, I've not had a single analog. I've survived 4 gigs with my bands and not once even thought about smoking. This is the longest I've gone without, that I can remember. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Right now I'm trying different juices(trying to find that perfect one) and planning to upgrade(most likely to the vamo) in the very near future.

Anywho, just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks to the community at this great forum!!

Welcome to ecf!

PS: Trying to find the perfect juice is a lifelong journey that will make you discover a whole lot of exquisite e liquids. You will never find the perfect e-liquid. That's like trying to find the perfect dish: You will find the perfect e-liquids (plural) that you will add to your daily rotation. So far, I've found 4 juices that I will vape forever but still enjoy other ones, I still try new ones every time I order my favorites.

First of all, congrats on the smoke free gigs! I'm with AgentAnia, love that the smoke free gig is a milestone!

I made the exact same progression of cig-alike-> Ego -> Vamo, and I love the vamo... easy to use, and can kick like a mule when I need it to!

The perfect juice is like Steam said, a lifelong search... I've found (and made) some juices that make me extremely happy, but I'd say my biggest issue with finding the perfect juice, is that you might like a certain meal, but really, when you can go to a buffet and try all the other tasty dishes, why not have a great time exploring all the awesome flavors? (Sorry Steam, had to use your perfect dish analogy too, was dead on!)

Welcome Aboard all of you new to vaping

There was another thread today asking whether we are in the Golden Age of Vaping and I don't think so. Much more to discover and new innovations coming every day. My best advice is to read, read, read before you spend, spend, spend. I smoked for 50 years and finally moved on to vaping without a second thought. I have however spent a lot more on vaping than I ever did on regular cigarettes because previously I made my own at $7.00 a carton.

Thanks everyone!

White Rabbit, you are right, probably should read, read, read!! But I get a bit obsessive. I went down to the local vape shop and got a Vamo, I couldn't help it. This thing is a beast, well compared to anything else I've used. It'll be my last big purchase for a while. Now I've just gotta find my juice. I've got a couple I like pretty well, but more that I'm not so fond of. I guess the search is on.
