I placed an order a few weeks ago for one. but I'm on the fence about canceling.

I've had to deal with these 510 issues on my cuboid. Didn't want a repeat. But then again, it was only 40 for the unit.

How easy is it to replace the 510 on the rx200/s?

Use the link below as a rough guide. I replaced both my RX200 mods with FDV 510. I never really had an issue with the original 510 until I got the Gemini which has an awkwardly long 510. I ran a home made spacer by cutting a gift card for a while because I was too lazy to replace the 510.
The battery tray does have to be cut to fit the 510 negative nut. Once you open the battery tray you will notice the top battery terminals. I used a dremel to cut just enough to retain the button holders. Sorry but I did not take any pic, but you will understand what I mean when you open it.

Replacing the 510 in an RX200... Fairly easy actually.

Sorry for the ignorance, but what is or is there an actual spec or patent, etc.. for the 510?

I am asking because when does it because an atomizer "flaw" vs a mod "flaw"

I mean if one day a tank/RDA comes out with an 8mm long 510... is it still the mods fault for having a too shallow 510 or does it turn to the tank/RDA fault for having a too long 510?

I don't know if Joyetech has a patent for the 510? I just know what was in Phil Busardo's video visiting Joyetech. And one employee was fingered out for starting the 510 craze.

Update: At the 5 minute mark. I believe there is more talk about it, I think at the end (I don't remember now).

510 - An e-cigarette type with a thread size of 7mm diameter with 0,5mm pitch between battery and cartomizer.

I never heard of the above center. And what do they mean by a 0.5mm pitch between battery and cartomizer?
I believe they are referring to the thread pitch

I have an old note in my phone that I made about the 510 tap and die size because I wanted to make myself an atty shelf where I can actually thread my atties to and not just sit it there. Tap and die to use was 7mm x 0.5

I've never owned an RX200, but after handling one at my local vape store and realizing that the ergonomics are quite good I decided to get one. The RX200S seems to fit the bill, so I pre-ordered one. From what I can tell it uses the 510 from the DNA version so I have a hard time seeing any downside to the S model. Can't wait to get it!

I think the difference is in the travel of the pin in the DNA200.
Pin up they are 3.9mm from the base of an atty. Pin down they are 4.6mm. That is both RX200 and DNA200. My two RX200 were manufactured in January and my two DNA200 were manufactured in February. Earlier runs may be different. Like some of the ones the reviewers got looks different to me. But I don't think those are production units.

Fair enough! Real world measurements don't lie.

I received mine in the mail from gearbest today. Mixed feelings about it
Never had the other rx200, so I love the feel of it. But when I opened it, brand new in the box, it already had a ding in the top finish and a minor blemish on the side. Screen is a little crooked too.
Screen isnt as bright as I was hoping, dont know if there is a screen protector or not, will look closer later.
also, 510 threads were not clean. Griffin sits at a slight angle and has side to side movement when seated.

I know it was only $40 and a lot of waiting, but still. I was expecting better. This will be the last purchase Wismec/joyetech/eleaf sees from me (although that istick 200 is pretty tempting)

I got my RX200S about a week ago from Heaven Gifts. It arrived quickly with no dings or crooked screen, looks nice. I've had a original RX200 since early December and I do notice a slight difference in the 510 connection, the RX200S pin is a little springier and has a bit more travel. I haven't had any issues with any toppers sitting flush, but I didn't have any issues with my old RX200 either.
I've tried the TC with NI200 and works just fine, but I have been using it predominately in power and SS modes and haven't had any problems.

I did just get a new RX200 in red/blk a couple days ago and did notice that my Tobeco Velocity, while it did sit flush, that last twist was a bit tight. I never had that with my older RX200 or RX200S, which I found curious. Overall, I'm very pleased, the screen looks nice and much easier to read and glad they made that color scheme available for a non-DNA200 model.

I do like the looks with the new screen. Besides the 510 issue(I had to use a 510 spacer to use the Gemini 22mm RTA), the screen was the only thing I disliked about my old RX200..... That screen is a world of difference. Even bigger than the DNA200 screen. How bright is it?

For me, the screen seems plenty bright, I haven't had any problems reading it. If you want a multi-battery mod and like a large screen, it's definitely the one to get. Between the price point and performance, it's hard to beat.
