One of the challenges of conventional DIY mixing is that the flavors we buy seldom stand on their own, so producing one enjoyable product usually requires careful mixing and experimentation with numerous ingredients. Flavors can sometimes interact in unexpected ways and end up muting each other or turning into something different. I have recently become aware of a manufacturer that sells complete single-ingredient flavor profiles that can be added to base to make a product that stands on its own: Wonder Flavours.

Wonder Flavours - Super Concentrated Flavours

This Canadian company has made a big difference for me, since I've had limited success in crafting my own recipes from scratch and even in following the recipes of others. It's great to be able to add 4% Super Concentrate and instantly have a complete and delicious juice that tastes exactly like it's supposed to. Unlike "one shots" and "flavor shots," Wonder Flavours are just as affordable as conventional flavorings. Being concentrated, a little bit goes a long way.

I mention this because flavor bans are no doubt generating an interest in DIY by more casual people looking for an easier way.

So far I've tried:
- Pixie Stick Candy SC (alone)
- Coconut Custard SC with Graham Cracker Pie Crust SC [good combo]
- Cola Gummy Candy SC (alone)
- Banoffee Pie SC (alone)
- Lemon Orange Rice Candy SC (alone) [good orange flavor and not sickly sweet]
and each time I am impressed by how true the flavors are.

My retailer of choice for these products is DIY E-Juice.

Holy cow... you just made my day! So many interesting flavors, especially desserts/bakery. I tried to come up with a "french toast from scratch" recipe and finally just ordered Real Flavors french toast... much easier (might add a bit more cinnamon, but that's easy) I really can't afford to stock a bunch of flavors... this is a total solution for me. Hey is the shipping to US reasonable (DIY E-juice)? This really going to help newbies!

I know they do ship to the USA, but I'm not sure at what price. If you create an account please do share.

Interesting. A little pricey, $1.59 for 3mls. But to consider you’d need one flavor rather than several it’s not bad. It doesn’t give much room to experiment. But if it makes it easier to get into diy...
The SC "super concentrated" ones are more expensive than other flavors. But that because they're 2.5 times stronger. Recommended mixing proportion is only 4%, whereas the norm is 10%.

I like the sound of the WF Coconut Custard and Graham Cracker Pie Crust together,I have both of those and have yet to try them. What percentages do you mix yours may I ask? Good thread by the way for inexperienced mixers facing this dreadful flavour ban that you are facing in the US,I really feel sorry for you all.

The core of the recipe is custard at 3% and graham cracker at 1%.

I've enhanced it a bit over time.

BCF has a nice stock of WF. I tend to use most 1-3% in a mix, sft 3%. I have quite a few. I'll post some notes later today but for stand alone roasted nuts, hazelnut cream, lemon squares are all pretty good. There's more but it's early and not wanting to wade through the stash.

Can you post those notes in the random thread so Zazie can put them in her Blog?

@vaper1960 - Just go to Bull City Flavors for a great selection of Wonder Flavours flavorings, and a good variety of sizes. You can use the code ECF6 to receive an additional 6% off, too. Also, their S/H is very reasonable within the US.

Besides the ones the OP mentioned, I like the Hazelnts & Cream and the Banana Candy, each on their own. The Banana Candy tastes like the Banana Runts candy and/or the banana popsicles I used to love as a kid.

I somehow managed to catch wind of WF near the start of their business. Had to order from Montreal at the time, no US companies carried them. They had very few flavorings at that time and have expanded a lot. They're great! The Ruyan custard is a nice, smoky custard flavor. Their Tahitian Vanilla is pretty delicious. Many good flavorings and yes, great on their own! Plus they list recipes on their website and most of the ones I've tried have been excellent.
