Today is day 2 of vaping......0 analogs today, and I feel great!!!! Did notice, though, that the first vape of the day (when I got up this morning) caused a BAAAAAD headache. But, my lungs are feeling much better- starting to get the crud out of them. My only problems:

1) my only "craving" is getting an analog out of the pack and lighting it (my PV is satisfying the nic craving and the craving to hold something in my hand)....don't know how to get around this craving.

2) my sinuses are still stuffy

And to top it off....my analogs and ashtrays are still in place ....no craving to smoke.

I am so happy...after 32 years of 2 packs a day.... going right now to do my happy dance!

Substitute the ritual. In other words, perhaps, take apart your PV when you're "done" for the moment - that can be crushing out your cig. Putting it back together and topping off the cart or dripping/dipping/what have you when you're ready for some more can be taking it out of the pack and lighting it. It's easier to replace a ritual/habit with a new one, than to drop it altogether.

Congrats on your first analog free day!

The issue you have with number one will come with time, but it will come (at least it did for me). Wait until you take your lighter and try to light the end of your PV. I did that a bunch in the first month.

Congrats Deeanne!
Sounds like your on your way to being able to taste and smell things that you couldn't do when you were smoking analog's. Don't stress yourself out tho. It will take some time to break not just the smoking habit but what comes with it. I was so bad that one time i stuck a e-cig in my mouth and lit the end of it. YEAH, I melted the cover of the led light. (true story) Just go's to show you that you are use to doing things that are associated with traditional smoking. Before you know it you will break these habits and get on with life. Don't sweat it. Your doing a great job!

Thanks to everyones' encouragement. I have added a count banner to my sig to celebrate (and to help me keep on track). I am starting to make a list of supplies I need to mix my own flavors and fill my own carts....such a BIG savings! I am thinking about moving down to around 11 mg. instead of 18....but a lot of my "symptoms" are settling down, and I am not craving analogs- so 18mg might be right for me.

Either that, or get unflavored VG juice, and see if some symptoms subside ( burning throat and tongue, etc.)

If you are going with the un flavored stuff, i would by the hightest nic you can buy and cut it with PG or VG or both. If you buy 36mg, do a 50/50 solution then you will end up with double 18mgs of liquid and then add your flavor to some smaller bottles. Then your talking big savings. Good luck and have fun.

There's an idea. I have a cig case. Wonder if it would help to keep my assembled PV in there and pull it out when needed. The case holds "100's", so my 510 SHOULD fit.

As we speak, I am vaping away with my passthrough, and my cats are crawling all over me to check out the new "smell"....they hated analog smoke.

I pray for the day when ciggies will be a distant memory....my Mom died of CHF and COPD (smoker)...and my Dad died of brain cancer (smoker). My grandfather had skin cancer, then lung cancer, then ended up with colon cancer. I want to break this cycle here and now...I don't want to wind up as another family statistic!
