Ive seen more than one person on here say negative things about the protank 3 and Im wondering what exactly turns people off of it? I have one and while I dont have the most experience with any other tanks I actually like mine. Full disclosure my only experience is with a cheap gas station pen and tank combo.:vapor: Loving the vaping lifestyle.

dual coils, drain batt faster
Protank 3 seems to consume a lot o juice. (most dual and triple coils will)
Protank 3 does not have airflow adjustment--was not problem for me but for others (I have been vaping long time, never even owned anything w/airflow control, so guess I am used to not having

But the vape is pretty nice. :)

What are you using it on?????

I do use the protank 3 once in a while. But I have never tried a stock dual coil on it. I coil single coil and wick with cotton.

But I do prefer the protank mini 3. Although I vape mainly unflavoured juice, the flavour from the pt3 is different from the pt3 mini. Weird, but that's how it is to me. I recoil with a single coil for both, not dual.

Im running it on a Vision Spinner. Usually use a 50/50 mix with fruity flavors and run it at 4.8 except first thing in the morning. And you are 100% correct... I love the amount of vapor.
Have you looked at the mini Nautillus with the new BVC's (bottom vertical coils)? It is very, very nice. I run my full size Nautillus on an iStick.

There is a base that can go on the protank that makes it an adjustable airflow. They usually sell for 5-7 bucks.
I also recoil single coils with cotton and use two drill bits instead of the one single drill bit to give it an oval rather than a round. I am working with a vertical build now but have not perfected this as of yet.

OK. I was trolling the good old youtube the other day and found a solution for the only complaint I had with my mini pt3. It had a draw that was a little tight for my tastes. One of the reviewers recommended boring the holes in the base to increase airflow so I decided to give that a try. Started with the smallest bit I could find and tried out different sizes until I found one that I liked. Two of the holes are now 3/32" and the other is 1/16". It still carries flavor very well but doesnt feel like its trying to suck my lungs out. FREE WIN! Thanks for all the great advice.

I don't understand that comment about battery drain. The coils place a combined resistance across the battery, and it's that resistance that determines current drawn at a particular voltage and thus battery drain. How is the number of coils relevant?

In reply to the OP, I use both PT2 and PT3 and have pretty much settled on them in preference to Aspire or Innokin types.

They do sell version 2.0 AND 3.0 Kangertech airflow bases for the PT3. I went from the 2.0 to the 3.0 (which is standard on the new Kangertech Genitank) on my Aerotank Mega and the difference was insane. Great airflow even at half open and much smoother vapor production and flavor. I highly recommond it. Got mines from myvaporstore.com...they have both.

i'm with SunshinePete on this one. We've tried most of what's out there in this house & settled in on the Kangers, V2 mega PT2 PT3 & Turbo. Dual coils don't drain the battery any more that singles unless you go to the 0.8 ohm coils. The do use a little more juice but they produce more vapor. In my experience, the Nautilus tanks drain the battery a bit faster but they seem to like a bit more power than the Kangers and have less air flow/tighter draw. It comes down to preference
