Update. I have been trying different combos on my pt3 and have settled on the 1.5 ohm dual coils and drilled all the holes out to 3/32. Still running it on my vision spinner. It is a tad airy for a mouth draw but it is amazing for lung draws. Also produces prodigious amounts of vapor and flavor. I am dang close to cloud chasing amounts of vapor with this setup. Bought a lemo and loved it until I had a coil burn out on me while I was out and about. I now use that almost exclusively at home and the pt3 on the go. Bought a steel punk slug mod clone and love the vapor I get out of the lemo with a .8 ohm coil on that thing. Hope this can help some newbie who has questions like I did. BTW I did not smoke before I started vaping. Just thought it might make a good hobby. And oh was I right.:vapor:

The protank 3 was a failure of a tank. Kanger later immediately released the megatank to cope with the down falll of the former. However, even then the Aspire tanks have a better design and functionality.

I would stay clear of any kanger products for now, and look into Aspire. The Nautilus is great but their newest tank The Atlantis is literally changing the vape game as it becomes available this week.

Check it out for youself.

Hey Kintrol, I am not a discerning vaper by any means but I do enjoy the vape and flavor out of my PT3. It may not perform as well as some of the higher end devices it performs as well as I need it to. Especially with the airholes drilled to 3/32. If you read my previous posts you will see that my only experience with a pv is a cheap convenience store device. This tank and battery combo serves me quite well. Isnt the whole reason we are here to lift up other vapers and promote the hobby? Your post is needlessly hostile.

Like all clearos, the blister-packs of atomizers they sell are a total rip-off for what they are. Gurgling after one tank-full is usually the norm.

Find a youtube video and learn to build a micro-coil with a cotton wick on those PT3 atty's, and you can do much better than that garbage they sell. No gurgling, super-clean vapes. It's so easy. Not only will you save a bunch of cash but your vape quality will improve. If I remember right, I had about 7 wraps with 28 ga around 3/32" drill bit to give me a little over 1 ohm, enough resistance that none of my assorted ego batteries errored out (flashing light).

Once I learned to do that, it was a natural transition to RBA's.

I have looked into rebuilding to atty on my PT3 but I got it after they switched to the new type of atty. It is in no way rebuildable. Here is a pic of mine and the old style.https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&ik=cf74353a10&view=att&th=149eb2c6d05ba04d&attid=0.1&disp=safe&zw http://ts1.mm.bing.net/th?&id=HN.607999711148966855&w=300&h=300&c=0&pid=1.9&rs=0&p=0 As you can see the old style has the wicks out in the open but the new style has a skirt around the wicks and coils and there is no way to remove said wick/coil combo without destroying the atty. I am a mechanical engineer and could not find a way. If you know of one let me know.

Oh, that's right! I forgot about that... I was lucky and had one blister pack left of the old style which lasted me months rebuilding on them. Yeah, that's a bummer. Are there single coil atty's still available for the older Protanks? Maybe you could find a source for those.

Don't feel compelled to stick with the dual-coil PT3 tank/atty. Any single micro-coil will outperform any dual-coil/silica factory made setup.

Ive seen more than one person on here say negative things about the protank 3 and Im wondering what exactly turns people off of it? I have one and while I dont have the most experience with any other tanks I actually like mine. Full disclosure my only experience is with a cheap gas station pen and tank combo.:vapor: Loving the vaping lifestyle.

Protank is basically an Aerotank without an airflow control valve. Many/most people who own a PT3 get a separate AFC to increase its performance. At this point in the game, it's not worth buying as it's just an older model. Grab an Aerotank or an Emow mega--they are both very nice.

Ahem, yes, they are great--except for a few problems with chromed-brass chimneys instead of stainless steel and an yet-to-be determined fiberglass material used in their BVC coils. ;)

Don't believe everything you see on YouTube.

Oh, and Kanger also has a Sub Tank--with organic cotton coils and an RBA option. :)
