Wonky KayFun Lite stuff

So I bought a FT kayfun lite, and it's nice for a clone. A bit odd it came in a kayfun box and was like 100% copy. Even down to the tiny aitflow control nub on the bottom. But I can build and wick it fine, and it works. But after a few days it starts tasting off and not the same. I end up lookng at the coils, as bothersome as it is, and the coils are black and the wick by them are too. Not sure why. But then I remove my wick (japanese organic cotton pads) and burn the coils clean (29 gauge kanthal) and then rewck and fill. It tastes burnt and nasty, so I then have to re coil and all is good again.

So what can this issue be. Surely the wick and coils can last longer than that. The seal and vacuum work fine.

Most of the problems with wicks and coils are caused by your liquid, not the setup or atty itself. If you are using dark and sweet liquids, they gunk up the wick and coil faster than clear and less sweet liquids.

ah, that makes sense now. I do tend to use sweet liquids. I have a clear one I will try again, and see if the citrus one does better.

Be careful with the citrus juice...These tanks are polycarbonate and will crack. I lost 2 that way.
