I have a svoemesto kayfun Lite that is reading .3 Ohms (on a mod as well as on a meter) with NO coil on it. The air flow was drilled out yesterday but was working fine for a couple hours after that. I pulled the old coil this morning to put a new one in and found the ohms reading WAY low for the coil I built. This happened twice. I put it on the meter with no coil and found the .31 reading. I put it on the meter, then on a mod to double be sure the meter wasn't bad. Does anyone have an idea why it might be reading with no coil? I really wanted to start using this tank more as I have discovered the wonders of cotton wicking material. :) I'd hate to have to toss it if there is a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the replies! I took the center post out of it and ran a small brush and compressed air through it. After reassembly, she reads OL without the coil. I have been vaping for 6 years, but haven't really tinkered with RBAs since my original Bully several years ago. Off to put a new coil in it!

Thanks again!

Remove the 510 pin from the bottom. It is threaded into your positive block on the deck. Once removed you have a clear hole through the base that your air channel also comes into. It there are metal shavings that is where they will be. When reassembling I use a pair off needle nose pliers to hold the negative and positive blocks aligned when screwing in the 510 pin. Hope this helps.

It was probably the metal shavings from drilling. Something thin and stiff stiff like a playing card used as a tool to slide between the deck parts would be good to clean the gap.

There's also the possibility that the positive block on the coil deck was skewed/twisted slightly and touching the negative block. I've had that happen on a Kayfun that was completely stock. It happened as I tightened the positive screw while installing a new coil. You want to be able to see a uniform gap on the top and sides of the coil deck where you can see light from top to bottom between the two parts of the coil deck.
