Just got a kraken clone yesterday and didnt have time to set it up.
So after building several coils with my tobh (which I just adore), I got cocky enough to try a genesis one last time. First Genesis I had was a Steam Turbine clone which SUCKED. Air holes were smaller than a sewing needle! (probably could fix it, but thats not the point). Then I got a cobra clone, which again, tiny air holes (planning on redrilling it soon)
So I bought a kraken. And boy was I missing out til now
I wrapped up mesh, and followed rip trippers advice on initial setup. I went with 4 wraps of 0.7x0.1mm ribbon kanthal (I think this is my new favorite wire type) on each coil. I dont know the total resistance, my VTR keeps saying 0.0. Aside form the initial firing (which immediately went inside out and worked like a beast) and a single hit, I havent used it until I can confirm the resisitances. Though a single coil build only read 0.7-8, so I think the VTR jsut can read below 0.5..
But that 1 hit, man it was beastie. And the flavor! I loved it, better than cotton imo.
I cant wait until I confirm the ohms (and confirm there isnt a hard short), cuz I wanna keep using htis bad boy! Sure, I most likely cant use it with my nemmy in 18500, but I can live with the extra 1.5cm of length =)
Pics tomorrow when I dont have nearly as messy of a desk!
EDIT: According to steam engine, a target resistance of wire that type and 4 wraps is 0.37 ohms. thats with 2.5mm wicks, which was a little smaller than the diameter of the plug I had to remove. If I bumped it to 3mm, which is the full diameter of the plug and a safe assumption, it'd be around 0.43. So I'm still waiting for a ohm meter, but I feel a little more reassured that if its legit, I wont be crazy sub ohming.
