Hi all,

I'm very proud to present my new creature, an 18650-based DNA20 mod... My first mod! It took me two months to complete, on & off.

Quite small (22x40x85mm), quite light (about 100gr with battery), yet very powerful... it makes use of the excellent Mamu/Bapgood's DNA20 screen frame

I'm now starting work on its 18500 sibling, stay tuned ;)

Thank you

The (micro)buttons are inside, side to the DNA chip/display, easily accessible when you lift the cover.

Thanks to the DNA20 I change more often batteries than wattage, so I've spared a couple extra holes :D

Real nice, the mix of materials works well together. Where have you got the up & down buttons?

To be honest, I'm too ashamed to post any pics of the inside of this mod... it's a bloody, cranky mess, kept together with resin and silicon.

Unless you want to learn what shouldn't be done when building a mod, that is... :)

That is a very good point. I make mods to be compatable with interchangeable atties, but really one stays with the other a good long time, no need to change something dialed in just right.

And here I was hoping you would post more pics.

the battery makes it a little more stable, but yes it's still top-heavy and potentially unstable with tanks or heavy atoms..

OTOH I really wanted a slim and light mod, it stays in my shirt pocket all day long.

Nice mod. I personally don't find lightness desirable in a mod, tends to make them top-heavy and prone to falling.

thanks

yes, it's an heavily modified A7. I've cut the central vent channel flush to the internal base, sealed it with epoxy, drilled a new side hole and replaced the original positive screw with a solid one (metric measure: M2.5x5, if I remeber correctly)

Also I've inserted a tiny oring around the positive screw so that it stays squeezed between the A7 body and the screw head, stabilising for good the "ohm dance" of this atom. By the way, this trick works with the original A7 screw as well.

This specimen even sports some adhesive aluminum tape around the hole, for I've drilled it way too much (1.5mm, around 1/16') and wanted to narrow it back a bit :)

All in all, it's now probably the best dripper in my collection; so much that in fact that I've bought and modified a few more of them. No more bottom feeding, though...

I'm going out on a limb here bc I didn't see anyone else notice this, but is that an A7 with a side air hole drilled in it? Did you replace the center screw with something that was sealed? I really do like the mod you've built though! It looks classy
