Honestly, I think products just tend to work as expected nowadays. I can't really remember the last thing I tried that took actual effort on my part to use. So I think there just may be fewer malcontents.

/me raises hand. :p

Not super-happy with Trident II rba, but I guess it'll take some fiddling and experimenting.

Disappointed in the VFATE 1.8 dual-coil head. Wish I could get the Nova single coil 1.8 head again.

Tried the Aspire BDC, also not thrilled. I'm on my 4th head, 1.8 ohms, 1st day on it. The others vaped well for 3 days, and then the vapor started to get thin. I use a K100, no problems with it -- I check by sticking either the Trident or a 510 on it, and it's fine. I DIY 60% VG juice using Flavourart. No problems with a Joye 510, or the Nova heads. Yeah, occasionally there's one that's a stinker, but I've gotten weeks of use on a single-coil Nova head.

The VFATE head has the same problem as the Aspire BDC. Great vape for a few days, then it's done. And they leak. Was a thread a while back discussing that. I'll cruise the sub-forum here seeing what the chatter is on the VFATE, if any. I'm down to 4 spare VFATE heads, so I need to order something soon. The Mini-Nova was my game-changer for vaping while driving. Used to drip into a 510, and that wasn't a good plan. ;) I like the simplicity of a mech, so I don't plan on switching to higher voltage to be able to make a 2.4 ohm head a possibility.

Okay, enough malcontention? :D

I agree with Whistle_Pig, there are still lots of things that go wrong or don't last long but the people are just getting use to a buy it and throw it away mentality. Aspire heads are suckie but the aspire tanks are a good tank. Kanger has been getting hit on their coils forever but then we learn to rebuild them. I think that alot of new people are just lurking, afraid of the old clicks like the ones they ran into on Facebook etc. I lurked a long time, ok for me but maybe not in real time before I asked my first question afraid the pros would look down on me and not give me a correct answer. Well, i was wrong and got some good advice and answers. some were like you dumb person but most were, you have to do this type answers which is what I needed. I see alot of my friends using Cig-a-likes and don't feel the need for anything else. i try and show them how much more there is and sometimes get a new person to move up to an 808 or 510/ego. I have PIF alot of my old equipment and after I show them the ropes, I tell them to go here and read and ask questions. Some have but most are again, are not willing to take a chance and ask me instead. For those that do not know me and some of you have seen some of my posts, I am an older vapor and so alot of my friends are older or kids of theirs. The kids, I can't explain except the throw away thing. The older ones say because they don't want to sound dumb or get some kid putting them down. Forums have a bad rep as being bastions of clicks and this one has it as well. That is what we all have to get out there, that we are a group of vapors that support one another both young and old, no matter if you have a 808D1 or a high dollar mod. We are all in the same boat, we are for the most past ex-smokers who are supporting each other and anyone else who is interested in or has quit the evil analogs.
Once we can get people to trust us then the questions will flow again. I know I have dozens of them as I am now just starting to try rebuilding coils and thinking about DIYing my own stuff and boy are there questions for both... Why we have those threads and sub treads. It took awhile for me to test the waters here, it will take others just as long...

sorry for the long windedness. is that even a word?
Just a possible answer to where the people are.

or they are all on vacation, ya never know.....

Or, they're on <RETCH> Facebook. We used to have a pretty active bunch over at the Colorado sub-forum. It's mostly quiet now. But we get lots of people at meetups, and I guess that's mostly from Facebook. We're seeing a lot of brick/mortar shops too, so I think a lot of people just go to their local store, rather than using the web.

I confess, I don't drop by here a lot myself these days. I've found what works for me, so other than messing a bit with the RBA stuff, which is just a curiosity, and not a big part of my vaping, I now spend my online time in other pursuits.
