I'm not sure if people have the reason why people are doing this right.
I have a few ideas.
One is, people just don't think...Like years and years ago, people never thought twice about lighting up when ever or where ever they wanted. They never asked if anyone minded if they smoked, they just lit up. They only started asking and stopping in places because of the bad wrap that second hand smoke had gotten.
Second, alot of people are not even relating it to smoking (espically the younger group). They see it doing no harm to others, so why not. No different to them than wearing obnoxicious perfume, chewing gum loudly, or having horrible personal hygine.
So I say along with educating the general population about e-cigarettes, we also need to educate vapors about maybe being more politally correct in their decisions on where and when.

Here, I will stop all these threads right now...

We can all agree that being a vaping ......... makes you a .........?
And we can all agree that vaping only where smoking is allowed is counter-productive?

No, we can't agree on that?

I wish we could all agree on that, but if not...
Then let's have MOAR threads!
:)

I call it "freedom genocide". And the world is full of people who wish to pursue that selfish goal. Respect is mutual, and I cannot respect those who try to take it from me simply because they desire control. You can expect me to return fire.

I don't desire to be an "inconsiderate ......... vaper", and I try to give others the respect they deserve. But in the face of "freedom genocide" I tend to be very militant.

Something tells me that you would want to Vape on the Patio of a Bar in California.

There is a fine line between being courteous and letting the ANTZ stomp on you. I refuse to be stomped on. I have not let the ANTZ stop me from owning firearms, I will not patronize a business that has ample room and yet does not allow semi trucks to park, I stopped eating in restaurants or going to bars that did not have an outside smoking area and, I'll be hog tied if I will let them stomp on me now.

Yes I ask first but, if they say no, that is the last time I will be in that bar or restaurant and, if there is another place to buy ANYTHING I will shop there rather than the one that does not allow vaping same as I don't shop at the grocery store that does not allow concealed carry permit holder to be armed while shopping there and, I don't eat at Cracker Barrel because, despite having a suitable parking lot, not one of them allows semi trucks to park - even if the driver wants to eat there.

No I don't think that my choice not to patronize those businesses will make them change their policies, as much as I wish it would, one person here and there is not going to matter to them but, it does matter to my principles, values and self esteem and, that's reason enough not to let anyone stomp on me.

If more people acted like you do, it would matter.

There is a School of thought that If an Individual does not Respect someone like Business Owner to not allow Vaping because it is Non Illegal to do so, that it is the Fastest way to get Legislation Passed to Make It Illegal.

If Business X doesn't allow in Vaping and Business Y does, and if Everyone abided by Business X's policy, then Both Business X and Business Y are Happy. And Many, not all but Many, Vaper's are Happy.

But if People Don't Respect Business X's Policy s that Bans are Enacted, now Business X is Happy and Many Vaper's are Unhappy.

When you are Outnumbered 10 to 1, maybe that is a Good Time to Realize that a Little Compromise will get you More than taking a Hard Line Stance.

One thing I do reserve the right to do is refuse my custom to those business establishments who forbid vaping. Even if I have been loyal for years. I will speak to the owner/manager and inform them exactly WHY they lost my business. Calmly, peacefully but taking a stand nonetheless.

Yes it would but, there is one of the biggest problems with getting real change to happen - you will never get everyone in any given group to agree to take the same action at the same time. It's why truck drivers in the US have to abide by ridiculous hours of service rules and, it's going to be why vaping ends up as regulated and ostracized as smoking if we don't all decide to make a difference this time, for a change.

I predict that when the "deeming regulations" are proposed, if they come out badly, we will see vapers rise up.
It will be a great and furious wrath the likes of which has never been seen.

Or maybe not.

I'm stocked up either way.

I think these type of posts are lame. Not that the original poster is lame, but the whole idea that we have to post rants on this, just silly.

I guess because I am a libertarian, and I believe I should be able to put whatever I want to in my body, as long as it is not infringing on others freedoms to do the same.

The need to point out that some people are different, and will always be discourteous smokers, or vapers, or swear in front of your kids, or or or or...blah blah blah

Then, as it would stand to reason, I guess pointing out that people make lame posts, and like to take advantage of their freedom of speech is also lame? Not that the person posting about lame posts is lame, but the whole idea that we have to post about lame posts on lame posts, just silly.

sorry, just had to do it... couldn't resist ;-)

Baahahahahahahaha!

Some people are on some crusade to be the Rosa Parks of vaping. I respect the hell out of what she did, being asked to not vape on the bus (figuratively and literally) isn't exactly the same thing now, is it?

If you can't make it through the grocery store without having a vape, you shouldn't go. If you can't sit through a movie without having a vape, stay home and watch a movie on Netflix.

I mean seriously; if you can't function like a normal human being, get some professional help. Please.

I think the people who want to vape in the aisles at the grocery store, blow clouds in a theater, etc. are just looking for attention. They don't care if its positive or negative, so long as they're getting attention.

A lot of people will hate me for writing this. They'll call me some subservient something or other. They have in the past. They can go make love to themselves, to put it in a nice way.

Not a lot of bars and restaurants went out of business when smoking in them became widely prohibited. Not sure how much of an impact a boycott by a tiny minority of vapers would have.

A 5% Market Swing would be Huge to Many Companies. And a 10% Drop in Sales is many time the Difference between Making a Profit or Going into the Red.

The Smoking Ban effected Everyone in the State I live in. So people were hurt Equally. Or Non-Effected Equally.

People actually stopped going to bars and restaurants when the smoking bans passed? I know that was the argument against the bans, but the evidence proved otherwise. Turns out many people who had stopped going to bars and restaurants started going again after the bans, because they no longer had to tolerate second hand smoke. Those who smoked who stopped going, ended up going back after a while and simply smoked outside.

I think once Big Tobacco's involvement in e-nic is in full swing and after $millions spent on media campaigns, things will change in favor of e-nic.
