Yep ebay has gone to the dogs. I was a seller on ebay since 2001, 12 years!!! Over 2000 positive feedback!!! And yet I had this same type of thing happen to me a few times and the buyer always won. I sent a very long letter that really was read by corporate staff at ebay, and they all apologized and hoped that I would return my long standing status to ebay, but in the end they did nothing to help or change their policies. I've read a lot of other forums dedicated to this very topic and there is a huge movement away from ebay in progress right now, the only problem is there is nowhere else solid to go yet. Greed, it will eventually ruin everyone at some point.

eBay does have a policy regarding e-cigs:
Not allowed: Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) or accessories

But, they also have this drug paraphernalia policy, which implies that vaporizers are otherwise OK:
Not allowed: Vaporizers intended to be used with alcohol or illegal substances
But, based on the other "not allowed" tobacco products and their statement that "you're not allowed to sell most tobacco products on eBay because of strict government regulations," I'd guess that they only consider items containing tobacco products (disposables? juice w/nicotine or NET?) to be not allowed.

The latest eBay growth chart ..

Ebay,_Up_72%25_In_a-556fe5c501613323f456b4ce81f9b7b1

I build / sell custom guitars and parts and have used eBay as one of my sales venues since 1996 .. in that time, I have had 3 cases of buyer attempted fraud .. out of well over 100,000 sales ..

I have had a much greater percentage of folks that have tried to dispute a non-paypal credit card charge from sales on Amazon, etc ..

There is no mass exodus of sellers on eBay and selling there is as safe as anywhere on the Web, maybe safer ..

Ridiculous how far people will go to save dollars to a few hundred bucks. Now if they were trying to scam a hundred thousand to a million dollars than maybe I can understand.

Many times when buying a pack of smokes at a corner store I catch people complain about how a pack of their smokes is like 10 cents cheaper at "wherever" and then proceed to drive to "wherever" to buy their smokes. Do they not realize that after they factor in the price of gas they probably spent more than the 10 cents? Not to mention that its just 10 cents..

Man, this sucks. I have a few pieces of high-end photographic equipment each worth $500 - $1000 I have been thinking to sell on eBay. But I've heard this kind of anecdotes before and that's why I haven't listed them yet. Selling them locally on Craigslist with cash and pick-up only is safer but the market is much smaller? Hmmm, what to do?

still sell your stuff on ebay! I would say 95% of the people are good people, but there are always a few. and it sucks, but I guess vaping attracts some dumbass crooks. too bad.
