Starter kits are just that, an introduction into the world of vaping

A comparison
You say your an IT geek
What you have there is a equivalent to a basic net-book and a dial up modem
Sure you can check emails and browse the web, but its frustrating

I have spent endless amounts of cash in the 4 months I have been vaping, on mostly useless kit that just sits in my box gathering dust and keeping company with the weird flavors I will never vap.

Just buy a 6volt mod (lots to choose from), and drip

I have an AdapteveR running a 901 atomizer on 2CR2 batteries (I find the 510 too harsh at 6v)
I vap my own mix of 20ish mg VG Menthol (VG gives me plumes of vapor, menthol at 20mg gives me great TH)
I drip only and use a t-tip, carts are fiddly, sticky, and temperamental

Every day I have the same, satisfying, consistent vap

Good luck with your search

Glenn

You might be flooding your atomizer sometimes.
You also might be trying to use the same filler material for too long.
You also might sometimes not be letting the atomizer dry well enough.

Do you have automatic batteries, or manual batteries?
Because if you have automatic batteries, you might be having some issues there.

And when you change your filler maybe sometimes you have too much or too little.
Too much filler can make it hard for the juice to wick.
Too little filler can lead to flooded atomizers.

Do you know how to tell if an atomizer is too dry, or if it is flooded?

I agree... I'm still using 510 attys I bought Feb 1st and all I do is 'blow them out' every few days.. they work as good as the day they arrived.
:thumb:

I agree! I just top off the carts and vape away! I do keep different carts for different flavors, but the atty will just have to "burn into" my new flavor.

Here's the way I see it, if your atomizer gets all "gunky", do you want to really be sucking this stuff up? Might as well go back to analogs or find a new juice supplier!

I'm cleaning my lungs out, not my atomizer!!!

Lol wow lot of responses but my only question is are cartomizers just a different kinda cartridge? or do I have to buy a whole now set-up :( Cuz that would really really suck! LOL

Thats why I mentioned the adapters. you can get them at various suppliers. I ordered mine from altsmoke.
It is a piece you screw on the battery and then it will allow you to screw other model carts on it.

Not sure what to say, been vaping for a few days with a 402 and 510. No problems, maybe your atty's are getting water logged? Do you blow them out after rinsing at night?

Well guy's I would have to say case closed and this would be the winner! Turned out that there was still water in the atty even twelve hours after rinsing it so I blew it out and took a hair dryer to it just in case and now it is working like a charm again! Thank you for all of your help!

I've been vaping on a Titan 510 for about a year and I love it. Just upgraded to a Tornado and so far I am loving the batt life. Funny thing is I ordered a pass-through at the same time so my new Tornado sits across the room staring at me most of the time haha. But when I'm not at home or work its been a god send.

Can you believe I am still running off some of the original atomizers I got a YEAR ago. Yeah.. daily vaping and some of my atomz still work! Out of 5 I bought I had one semi-failed, one weak, one still kicking and two still sealed. I must be lucky I guess but I do take care of my stuff.

Advice to all. If your atomizer is working. Leave it alone! We rarely ever rinse, wash, clean in any way our atomizers and they work great for months on end. Once in a while I blow one out and move to another. But that's it. Many even try and clean or wash out a new atty. Why bother to clean a brand new atty?

Hi I am a new SD owner and have had a few challenges. Feel free to pm me for info on what I have learned
I use an MKII have trouble with consistant vapor and throat hit, mabey I flooding the Atty or I'm using it to much, have to fill cart and drip ever 15 min sometimes, (even sooner) It just bugs me that my$12 dse901 passthrough works perfectly all day long and my big bad batt, device is giving me so many inconsistant vapes and throat hit, any and all suggestions would be apprecieated, and no I'm not knocking the device, I'm sure It's something I just haven't figured out. Have a dripper on order mabey that will be the answer to my prayer :):D

I have the exact same thing going on right now rthom, Im also using the SD MKII. Today I odered a 901 to 510 adapter and some cartomizers to see if that solves the issue with inconsistant performance. From my trials with a friends custom mod using 510 cartomizers this "should" work. My perspective is each PV has a learning curve and I just havnt figured it out yet, Im hoping to take a short cut and go with cartomizers for ultimate ease of use instead of actually working out the kinks with the SD. (This isnt a knock on the SD at all, I fell its one of the best battery mods out there, its more my lazyness or inability to learn then anything.)

I have the MKII and i absolutely love it..with the additions i bought. You did the right thing by buying the 901-510 adapter...consistent vapes all day! You should also pick up a few Low Res Attys as well.....Tons of Consistent Vape!! I found that the stock 901 wasnt doing the job...
