Since the emails will be coming from different people, one email blast per person is all I'm talking about, it shouldn't raise any type of flag for the person sending the email. I hope this can be settled before people start getting scared and don't want to do this.

My intention is to NOT cause any difficulties for ANYONE involved. If I thought there was a risk...

In case Kristin comes here, I will not be able to check on this thread for most of the day today. I'm going to be away from Internet access from 12:30 till later this evening. I will check back after I get back home.

I'm not an IT guy, even though I do teach computer, however, I think that since the emails are coming in randomly from different points around the world and at different times it would be very difficult to trace back to senders, also it would NOT look like your typical email bomb that can have up to millions or billions of emails hitting the server extreme fast, one after another.

So I think we're safe on that piont. :2cool: Any IT peeps out, please correct me if I'm wrong.

The only problem I can forsee is if an IT guy/gal happens to notice the repeating subject line and doesn't take the time to read at least a couple of them to see if the content is indeed safe or not (malicious). After reading, they should realize that they are not dangerous. If they don't read an email sent there is a chance they could manually block all emails that come in using similar wording in the subject line.

On the bright side, the event that serveral media stations are "allegedly" hit with "alleged" email bombs at the same time might be a news story in itself! And hopefully investigated and reported unbiasly.:)

Trying to fit into an ill informed society has become a daily challenge. A challenge that we must be willing to face. Willingness to teach one individual at a time on a personal level has become increasingly difficult with the media drowning out our words of truth.

Here we are today longing to be recognized with a sense of fairness in a peaceful manner within our media. Our side of the story is still yet to be told. Our resolve will be recognized throughout the world if we show our unity. Show them, so that they may have the opportunity to learn what we already know.

Let's send our story directly to the media and show them we have a voice too. Each of us as individuals can come together and make that voice a loud one.

I ask you all, how is it they expect us to stand idly by and do nothing while their only discourse to regulate is only driven by stupidity and greed?

Thanks,
Tvan & Robino

I would encourage personalization, adding comments so they did seem to be less 'form letter' ish. I know there are a lot of people that find it easier and less time consuming to use a letter that's been pre-written and that's fine too.

Emails aren't flagged based on the number of recipients. Filters are now "semi-intelligent" and can flag based on subject and even the email content itself. If emails were to be flagged as spam based on the number of addressees in the To: line, my old man would have been nailed eons ago for all that forwarded "I read it on the Interwebz" junk he keeps sending out.

As long as the email is legitimate and you aren't mailbombing hundreds of addresses every hour, you'll be fine.

We came to the thought that if we put the addresses in the BCC or CC line, the recipient wouldn't have to scroll past a bunch of addresses before getting to the main message.

Upon further pondering, it might not be a bad idea to have a couple of the big 3 in the 'To' line. Let them see that other news agencies are getting the same email.

Agh! I keep thinking and can't shut it off...

Same subject line should be absolutely fine. If in doubt, keep it as similar as possible. The continuity of message line shows unity among us. If you want to personalize your message line line, keep the "National & World Vaping Day" and add your own words after.

The National and World Vaping Day title will define that we are united.

I would like to re-state that we want these to be positive messages. What e-cigs have done, in a positive way, to your life.

The goal: Positive Peaceful Protest. ;)

Gosh, only 2 more days! I'm feeling a little......scared, excited, nervous. What if I only get 15 people to do this? Ack!

Ok, gonna shut up for a bit  I'm driving myself crazy.....

I'm pretty sure you'll get a few more then 15 ppl to participate. ;) it might just surprise you so...no worries.

How will you know how many people send it?

I really won't know :(
All I can do is have faith that people actually will participate. I do hope I get people to come back here and just let me know that they did.

I suppose I could put my email address in the list, but I really don't want to do that.

On the 18th, I will supply the email addresses of the different new agencies that we want the emails to go to.

The plan is to flood the media with Positive stories about how the e-cigarette has helped us quit smoking and better our life. We want to flood them on ONE day. World & National Vaping Day which is September 19th. We would like the Subject line to be as consistent throughout the emails so that it shows a unified front.

In a sense, this is a positive peaceful protest.
The hope is to get a couple of news agencies to see that there ARE positives about the ecigs and they are worth looking into as a healthy alternative to smoking.

SAMPLE EMAIL

Subject line: National & World Vaping Day, The E-cig Saved me from inhaling over 4000 chemicals.

Message body: There are approximately 600 ingredients in cigarettes. When burned, they create more than 4,000 chemicals. At least 50 of these chemicals are known to cause cancer, and many are poisonous. The electronic cigarette, on the other hand, has 4 ingredients: propylene glycol and/or vegetable glycerin, food grade flavoring (optional) and nicotine (optional)...all FDA approved ingredients, and none of which have been proven to cause cancer.

It has been INSERT YOUR OWN NUMBERS HERE days since I last had a cigarette. That comes to INSERT YOUR OWN NUMBERS HERE cigarettes that I have NOT smoked and over $INSERT YOUR OWN NUMBERS HERE that I have NOT spent on tobacco cigarettes.

I owe that to electronic cigarettes.

I want to get the word out to every news organization and ask that you not be mislead by the advocates of big tobacco and big pharmacy who claim that e-cigarettes are bad for you:

CIGARETTES ARE MUCH MORE HARMFUL!

The patches, gum and drugs have a dismal failure rate. Listen to the “man on the street” and you will find there are more of us that have quit smoking tobacco by using e-cigarettes than you think; we number in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions. And that number grows every day.

....then continue on with a short paragraph about your personal journey.

Thank you for taking the time to read my email.

Sincerely,

YOUR NAME HERE

When the emails are posted, please put your email address in the TO: line. Cut and paste the email addresses into the CC or BCC line.
This sounds very good. Substitute e-cigarette with personal vaporizer and cigarets with pipe and I will send it out

Personalize it any way you want. This is just an example or template. ;) Whichever way you like.

Thank you for your support! :)
I was hoping you would be on board for this :D

So, I just found this thread, and Im trying to back track, but when we do the letter, WHO do we send it to? I didnt find an email address, or do we just send it to local news media sites? Sorry, getting kinda excited and reading all the posts is making me sort start to feel like "forgetting about it" but feel this is important.

Thanks so much
I hope this will help get the word out.
