I would have post this in the E cigarette technical issues part of the forum but it would not let me...

Anyways I was working tonight and I went threw the whole day fine with just one battery fine and it was working really good all day I am using a pen style from myfreedomsmokes.com and I have been using this for about 2 weeks now but how ever when I was changing my battery to my extra one that came with the package I completely charged it and and I was changing it like I have been doing when my battery does (like who does not do that lol) but anyways when i was changing it I started to turn it into the atomizer and the LED blinked like 3 or 4 times and I was like hmmm never seen that before and than I was going to take a hit but did not and it started to get really warm and hot so I immediantly un screwed it and put it up and now the battery is like blinking like every now and then unscrewed and just blinking every now and then and on top of that the taste is really bad now taste like really different now does not taste like it was it taste like metal like now just taste really funky I am not sure what to do I am going to get a pack of analogs in the meantime and go and talk to the guy where I bought it from and tell him my problem what do you think happend? I might have just over heated it somehow and the battery was fully charged and barely used but now it taste horrible! any of you guys have a opinion on what you think is going on? I have not been using the battery that heated my e cig up I have been using the one I have been smoking on all day I re charged it but the taste is just really wierd.. Thanks for your help

Kind of sounds like your battery intiated an automatic atomizer cleaning. Generally most people try to avoid that happening, by ripping the battery off as soon as the realize it is doing that.

Basically the theory behind it is the battery after so many activations will heat the atomizer up for a period of time to cook off any gunk that has accumulated. Your atomizer should be fine, you'll just have to vape it until the smell goes away.

As for why your battery is blinking when not hooked up to anything, does it blink when there is a loud noise or something similar? Some of the new batteries have microphones in them instead of a pressure switch. So loud noises can set them off.

Shadow --You either got hit with the Cleaning cycle of from the battery and that taste will disapate or the pressure switch got stuck in and gave a little to much heat to the atomizer---The taste will clear with use and watch that battery. If the switch is sticking try sucking on the battery hole or wacking the battery downward on a table to unfreeze the switch---it can stick if e-liquid gets in the battery which is quite common----Sun

When cartridges begin drying out, vapor production is reduced. If you vape beyond a certain point, it is normal to begin getting an 'off' flavor from a dry cartridge.

Continue to use your suspect battery, but keep a close watch on the LED. You can do a few very light, very brief test puffs on the battery to loosen up the switch until you feel pretty sure it is working ok.
