As I continue to drop nicotine levels, I am convinced that for many, if not most cases, it is more an addiction to the action of smoking. I don't seems to crave the nicotine as much as the hand to mouth action, the feel of the vapor and the aroma and visuals of it. Therefore, I'd have to say no, I am not addicted to vaping as much as the act of vaping. Hope that made some sort of sense.

Same here. It makes a lot of sense.

I'm addicted to nicotine and need some way to personally give myself the nicotine when I need it. Patches don't work for me because I don't mentally know that they are working. I had no problems giving up the analogs (unlike others in my family) it took me three days to completely switch.

I just dropped from 24 to 18mg and I can tell you that I wasn't ready to do that. I'm puffing a lot more on the 18mg and feeling ever so slightly on edge. Think I need to step down to 20 or 22 before going all the way to 18. LOL

I started vaping 18 and 24 mg. nicotine. I'm now down to 0 to 6mg. Each time I stepped down it was only because my body was having regular symptoms of too much nicotine rather than it being something I planned to do. I never had any such symptoms when smoking 2 1/2 packs a day so, for me, vaping has made me much less dependent on nicotine than when I was smoking. That said, I think it would be a huge mistake to generalize my individual experience or that of anyone else.

I have only been vaping for 3 months but I'm loving the whole thing. Especially the fact that I can vape at any time and in doors.
I find a freedom with E_Cigs that I didn't have with analogs. I can cut down on the nic and vape as often as I like. With analogs i tried to keep it below 15 cigarettes a day. So yes I vape more than I smoked. Could It become an addiction possibly yes but it's so enjoyable.
I think OldDogNewTricks summed it up very well when he said it's more the action of smoking that's addictive as well as the nicotine.

At this point I think I am more addicted to the learning and tinkering.... the shiny new stuff that comes out.... It's more of a hobby for me now. :vapor:

Aah yes, going into a vape shop and seeing all those lovely shiny new things and knowing full well you'll buy something no matter whether you need it or not.

I was a pack a day, pack an a half a day smoker. I never finished my last pack because I started vaping. I don't care if I'm addicted to vaping, I was able to drop cigarettes. I'm beyond thankful for that. I tried every other way in the past to stop smoking. I wanted to roll up and smoke the patch, Chantix did nothing for me, and cold turkey turned me into a homicidal maniac. Vaping is awesome. So awesome that the taste of cigarettes is nasty to me now. NOTHING has been as effective as that.

I may have a chemical dependency on nicotine, but am I addicted? Depends on your point of view, Pad Jon. From a certain perspective Darth Vaper did kill Annie Smokwalker, when Annie chose to turn to the VapeSide of the Nic.

Clearly I have a obsessive compulsive tendency, when it comes to quality devices and high end rba's, throw in a smudge of panicked conspiracy theory can quickly explain stockpiling and getting to be on a first name basis with the local pharmacist.

If I am addicted to my Cappuccino then I am certainly so with vape. But I no longer practice the slow painful suicide of cigarette smoking. So quite frankly my dear, I don't give a damn about other peoples definitions.

I don't smoke, I Vape!!

Vape long and Prosper!

I've managed to drop my nicotine from 24mg to 12mg in about a years time. As time goes on I find myself craving less and less. I still smoke the same amount of ML/day with the lower nic as I did with the higher nic. I also find myself being able to put down my PV and go several hours without it (also several hours in the morning after I get up) which would have NEVER happened when I smoked cigarettes. I am curious to see how I do once I reach 0 nic and try to put the PV down permanently.
