The resistance not changing isn't necessarily true. Even though most won't share my experience, my 2.2-2.4 ohm RSST microcoils start creeping up to 2.6, after a month or so, and after two months on the same steel mesh build, I had one creep up to 2.9 ohms. Again, this isn't common to most people though. But they certainly can creep up

Hi There,

I have never seen anything like that myself neither. I have however seen that my resistance goes up between try coil and wet coil, which I give is normal due to conductivity. The Difference was about 0.2 Ohms in my case.

So what I'm getting from this thread is - almost everyone who has a Provari thinks it was worth it, but almost everyone who would never buy one/has never owned one doesn't, often only on principle and not from having any actual experience with one. Draw your own conclusions from that. :)

Yeah I guess you are right...... Now I have to convince my wife to sign off the expense ;)

I would not.

I'm just over 3 months into vaping after 40 years of smoking.
I'm up to 14 mods, and about a dozen vision spinners and a bin full of all kinds of tanks.
The last things I have considered on any of my mods, was price, warranty, or reliability.

I buy what suits my needs, amuses me with features, and it needs to be shiny.
I have also discovered after trying everything I was interested in, that I like box mods best.

Sounds like me gear wise, and I don't regret buying any of it. That being said, I've had my ProVari with an IBTank on top maybe a month and a half and haven't used anything else since, except my gripper and a mini evod for extreme portability and stealth vaping. For me there is just nothing else I own that compares with it.

I Would happily spend on a provari, unfortunally, here in Brazil, a full provari comes at equivalent of 500$, a big step, but im considering buying one once i have the money.

Yikes! Gotta admit that price tag might dissuade me. I kind of fought with myself to spend $230 on mine, I'm pretty sure my more financially responsible self would have beat my you want it so get it already self at darn near double what I paid!

I don't own one, and never will based solely on the fact that I like to run my resistances low; in other words, the device wouldn't work for me. Does that make it an inferior device? Absolutely not, many standard regulated devices are not able to either, and if they are, you are definitely not getting the actual output you think you are.

Basically, you just get the device that best compliments your topper and build, and that's all there is to it ;)

The flaw in your logic is that the end of the year you have nothing to show for it......except maybe a cigarette in your hand after your Vamo fails you.

The other flaw is in thinking that a Provari needs to have all the latest bells and whistles or to try and "keep pace with technology".

It doesnt.

Its a simple fact of mechanics that the more moving parts something has and the more complicated the design, the more apt it is to fail.

If you want something that just works and works incredibly well, day after day, month after month and year after year, get a Provari .........or even a Reo which is another excellent mod that embraces these same principles.

I bought my Provari used off the classifieds with the buyer saying it was 6 months old at the time of sale.Ive used it all day, every day, without exception for 18 months and counting and its never let me down.

Not even once.

Cant get a better endorsement than that IMO.

** If you have any friends or family who are into construction or use tools on a regular basis in their jobs, start paying attention to what they use. I guarantee you the ones who have been doing it for awhile choose reliable and sturdy over the latest bells and whistles. Thats why Craftsman and Snap-On have such a good reputation.

The Pros probably laugh at the kid with the laser level/stud finder/calorie counter/stopwatch/ attached to his hammer and call him a noob.

and for good reason IMO.

So... your saying don't go for the bells and whistles get a provari??; The device with the least moving parts, which doesnt apply to a mod per se except the button(s), I assume means less failure points. ANY pure mech mod has less failure points than ANY regulated mod.

I notice a good number of the most highly opinionated people against the Provari are newer members.....so much wisdom and real world experience in such a short span of time....hmmmmm
And I see that most pro provari people say "just because its good" or "its a classic". Nothing any of you have said is making me even considering trying this mod

Another high wattage vape argument.

If you're not sub ohming, you're not one of the cool kids.

1.8 ohms on a Kayfun at 10 Watts is just dandy for me. Nice warm vape. Tons of flavor.

Just how exactly are you planning of hitting a 30 watt coil? 70 watt coil? 100 watt coil? With a dripper, of course.....

High wattage is great for dripping but I know of no wicking materials that would be able to keep up with a 30 watt atty without giving dry hits. Is anyone pushing 30 watts on anything other than an RDA? I'd like to know.

But hey. Everyone vapes with a 10ml bottle of juice in their pocket and hits their dripper after every hit right???!!!?? Right!!!!???!!!

Yea!!! Newbie sub ohmers can now build their quad barrel vertical shotgun slap your mamma till your sister cries micro coil by Rip Trippers without venting their battery on themselves..

Congrats...

NONE OF YOU are adressing the HUGE price issue. A fine and "dandy" vape is not $170.
