I am interested to hear opinions on this topic, being new to all things vaping I am not entirely sure what my opinion is.

DISCLAIMER: By children, I mean your offspring, not those way under the legal age to consume nicotine...

I started smokin analogs quite young. At first I was stealing my mother's cigarettes, and before long we were smoking together in the house. This was back in the days where smoking inside was not taboo, and even non-smokers would have ashtrays in the cupboard for whenever smoking visitors came around.

I have been vaping for about 4 days and don't think I will ever have another analog. My children are young, so I vape when they are not around or I go outside. When they are older, I assume they will be experimenting with various things, so I hope I can encourage them to try vaping instead og analogs. Would you offer them a few tokes on your PV? Maybe give them a 0mg nic juice so they can just have some fun with the flavours?

If I vape in the house....which I do, it would be hypocritical to tell any other vapor they couldn't vape in the house. Now certainly I don't want my children vaping, nor would I want them smoking but we all no children don't always make the decisions we want them to.

If they were mature enough to make an informed decision which would be drilled inside them in every way possible when and if the subject came up and decided to do it then I would much rather have a child that vaped than a child that smoked.

I am doing everything Possible to avoid exposing my Kids to smoking. That is the main reason I quit smoking and started vaping. They both understand that Mom, Dad and Grandma are all Vaping in order to avoid dying a horrible death from the health complications associated with smoking cigarettes.

So if, as you say in your original Post, they are of legal age and they choose to do one of the two, I would ABSOLUTELY prefer they chose to use E-Cigs rather than analogs and I would absolutely allow them to do so in my home. Even though we all know that enough testing has yet to be done to REALLY claim that e-cigs ARE IN FACT safer than traditional cigarettes. I would not permit them to smoke analogs anywhere near my Home though. Not even outside because I will not allow them to do something that I KNOW will kill them eventually in my presence.

Everyone seems to need this kind of disclaimer, but then when you read a thread like this:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...scussion/213891-calling-all-young-vapers.html
pretty much everyone started smoking way before 18. I did. All my friends did. I always found it a little odd that they check ID to buy nicotine gum... why? If someone wants to buy nicotine gum, (s)he already smokes. It's effectively saying, "You're not allowed to quit until you're 18."

I agree with madjack, though. I wouldn't introduce them to it. I pitch vaping to smokers every time I'm asked about my PV, but I wouldn't pitch it to nonsmokers.

Of the four offspring living away from home, I have two who smoke--one of which mentioned that he's buying a new pack every day. I'm not certain about the daughter who smokes, since she's at "that age" when she's having too much fun in life to remember to phone home (that will change on its own soon enough, so, no worries).

Of the other two, one has tried smoking and just doesn't "get it"--she never tried a second time--and the eldest has never tried it. Both appear to be philosophically opposed to forming "addictions" of any sort, which I consider to be a positive character trait.

I'm ordering an eGo kit from PureSmoker for my son and sending it up to him to try out, to see if he thinks it's a viable alternative to aCigs for him. When my daughter decides to touch base with Dad, I'll have the same conversation with her and ask if she'll consider trying the vaping alternative, and supply her with the same hardware, if she's disposed to comparing the two.

We've had conversations about vaping with the two daughters still at home, and have encouraged them not to try smoking or vaping; but, have told them that, if one is going to participate in nicotine consumption, after reaching the age of majority, vaping is the more healthy option. There is no point in not being real about it with them, quite frankly, because they may try it eventually.

My position is pretty simple: Smoking INSIDE our home has always been forbidden (we never smoked indoors), but vaping nicotine is allowed. This includes our children of legal age, our friends, neighbors, and acquaintances.

As to nicotine consumption, so far, I've seen only benefits revealed via credible research. Fifty percent 50% reduction in the incidence of Parkinson's and Altzheimer's, in experimental groups, as compared to the general population isn't something to pooh-hoo. That's only the beginning of what I've discovered, so my attitude toward nicotine doesn't align with that of the common man--I view it as a positive substance rather than a negative.
