i smoked with my kid in the same room, and i vape with him in the same room, good thing is now i am not kiling him yahoo us!

on a real note, i have explained to my 3 yearold as best as i can that all of my e-cig stuff is adult items not toys.
the thing that most might be wondering, is when you vape something yummo like cookies, wouldn't that make a child more curious?
funny thing is, i asked my kid how a cloud smelled (didn't blow it in his face, asked him to come over) and he held his nose and said it was icky...
he says this about ALL of them!

11 yr old daughter - she loves that I put down the stinkies and supports vaping to the fullest. I vape in the same room as her and sometimes even asks for vapor to be blown her way.... " mmmmmm.... is that monkey cream dad?" Hahaha - I never smoked around her and if I thought I was putting her in any danger I wouldn't vape around her - or my wife either

I don't have kids. My GF does, though. I refused to smoke in front of them. It's not a case of hiding it from them, it was never spoken about, but they all knew, obviously. I had already decided in my mind what I'd do if they decided to ask if I smoke. I'd tell them what they already knew.

The day I got my ego kit delivered, I had it delivered to her house. I'd been limping along with some NJoys for about a week without telling anyone. It was, as many know, a case of grit-n-bear it. She knew it was coming, of course, and she picked me up. I put it together in her car and took a hit and knew it was enough. On the way to her house, she said "One nice thing about it is, you don't have to smoke outside". We did grocery shopping for the night's dinner and went to her house. I had it on the included lanyard under my jacket. I went to the kitchen and started sorting through the rest of the stuff. One of them asked me "What's that, Nick." I told the truth, "It's something to help me stop smoking".

We talked about it for probably an hour or so. I answered all sorts of questions about smoking ranging from "Why did you start" to "How much do you smoke" to "how much did that cost" to "do you think it will work". I answered all of them straight-forward and honestly. It was kinda tough.

But, I vape freely in front of them, whereas I refused to smoke in front of them. They know what it is, they know it's not for them, and it is a great object lesson on why not to start smoking.

Plus, they seem to take great interest in what flavor I'm vaping and like the smell of it.

My GF wants me to get a pipe mod. She thinks it'd be cool.

I always smoked outside and as far away from the daughter as possible, she knew I smoked, she's 5 now.
When I stopped 4 months back and started vaping, I did/do it in the house.
She knows it's not a cigarette that smells like crap, but not sure she understands what it really is.
I have one place downstairs, a room which is next to the living room, where I vape, and then one room upstairs, the back spare bedroom, where I vape.
So I am not really vaping near her, so for me I am happy with how I do it.

I was in the same boat as you. I'm still fairly new to vaping, going strong 5 months now. My gf knew I smoked but it was taboo and I only did it at work. It also would spur arguments when I did it at home.

When I started vaping I was almost ashamed of my new replacement habit. I hid it from her for a good 2 months. Once she found out she wondered why I didn't tell her. She wasn't crazy about it but anything is better than smoking.

I continued to be shy about it and am still a little. But, once I did my research and learned more about it, I became proud. YOU my friend quit smoking. Be proud of it. Also, as a lover of IPA as well(dogfish head 90 minute?) You must have a taste for the finer things. YOU are a connosieur.

Always be respectful of others' space and always be proud of your new hobby.

I vape in front of my 2 year old, but I think it may be time to stop soon. Occasionally he will pick up an object and imitate me. Last night we watched the old Alice in Wonderland cartoon... When I took a puff from my PV, he started demanding that I blow letters and alligators.

My nephew's son is 4. The first time I Vapes in front of him, he walked over and pointed to my Vape and said, "That's steam like a choo choo train." The kid is a genius! Lol. I said yes, it's my fake cigarette so I don't smoke real cigarettes which are bad. After that he just walked away and had no more interest about it ever again. And yes, he is a genius, I tell you! Lol :)

My kids (7 and 11) know that I used to smoke, even though they never saw me, I never smoked in front of them, and will not vape in front of them. Like my wife, they all seem to know, because they have all commented on how I do not smell anymore.....my daughter thinks that my car does not "smell like cigars" anymore, which is a huge bonus!

Since I quit analogs, I got a new car, have washed or dry cleaned all of my clothes and jackets, and have rid myself of the odors completely!

so no, I do not vape in front of my kids, nor did I snoke in front of them. I try to teach them that people are allowed to make their own choices and mistakes in life, so they should not judge.

My son will be 4 on the 2nd and he saw me smoke, as well as my parents. What made me stop smoking was when he started picking up sticks and pretend he was smoking right along with us. It broke my heart to see that I was 'teaching' him that smoking was the thing to do. I try not to vape right in front of him, I keep my PV on a lanyard and take a drag when he is off playing or in another room. I stealth vape in the car if the kids are with us so he doesn't notice the vapor.

He does however know I vape and notices my PVs and juice storage box. I knew he would have an interest in the pretty colored thingy hanging from my neck so I say him down and just explained that this is only for me, it is something only grown ups use and that it keeps me from smoking cigarettes. I think I called it grown up medicine because he knows not to play with medication bottles. I have not had a problem with him trying to play with any of my vaping stuff.
