I got a Firefly kit (pretty much a riva 510) about two months ago, and got them with some SR and LR cartomizers. I also got an adapter so I could try this old 901 atty with it. I got the cartos because I thought they were easier and cheaper to use. I liked dripping with the 901 atty too, but I found that I frequently got juice in my mouth and wasn't getting a great hit.

Well, I got drunk one night and ended up losing one of my e-cigs in the cab as well as dropping the other one and breaking the drip tip on it. I decided to order another e-cig kit, this time with some atomizers, as well as some dripping attys from Smartvapes. I gotta say... dripping with atomizers is a completely different experience than using cartos! And these new attys don't hold a flame to that crappy old atty I was using.

Anyways... just saying, dripping is pretty awesome. Should of done that to begin with. Still got a dozen cartos. Guess I can save them for long car rides when I can't exactly drip?

Yes actually, I am using the special dripping atomizers from Smartvapes which are bridgeless, as well as the default 510 atomizers that came with my kit. Not sure what kind these are, but they look like basic LR 510 attys.

I have not been able to tell a huge difference between the two because I am using a menthol liquid in the bridgeless atty and just random fruity/creamy flavors in the regular atty. But it DOES seem that the bridgeless one gives me a great hit with the menthol, easy to draw and great flavor and vapor. The other LR atty doesn't seem too bad either. I've been dripping all of them. Honestly, I don't think I'll be using cartos much after trying dripping. I may have one in case I can't drip or whatever. It looks like Smartvapes is out of stock on the 510 attys, but if you can get an adapter, I hear the 306 attys are even better.

I'm trying to get a better atty and I've heard the ikenvapes are great, and so are HH 357. is there anyway to get the flavor out of the atty though. I dripped a very cararmel based juice from e vapor clouds and no matter how much I blower out there's still that flavor. I get a lot of sample packs but I don't use them because I can't taste their real flavors. and I don't want to spend a to of money n different attys either. i saw in one of Grimm greens videos that he would hold it over a tea kettle and,et the steam clean it. does that work? are there any other ways? thanks

Kyi - I was considering posting a very similar thread this morning. Started dripping last week during the evenings. I was almost out of my all day vape and was waiting on a shipment, so I was using my atty at night with assorted sample juices I had not tried yet and I really got the hang of it. I vaped almost all weekend on an atty and I can not believe the difference. CLOUDS :vapor: of vapor OMG and the flavor..... WOW!

Where did you get the second kit and what kind is it? They probably have similar atties for sale apart from the kits. I would def. like to try a few. I definately need some atties now. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, I go and change my mind.

is there anyway to get the flavor out of the atty...
Some flavors just stick around a lot longer than others.
Menthol and pizza for example.

Some people suggest vaping some plain PG or VG to get rid of a flavor.
Other suggest cleaning the atomizer using alcohol or maybe doing a dry burn.

I'm too lazy for that and I just keep on vaping right through it.

Sometimes I suffer through some pretty strange combinations before the old flavor is finally gone, especially with the pizza flavor.
I really like the pizza flavor, but this is the reason I don't use it as often as I would like.
:)

Hey Kyi... what kind of atty are you using?? I got two atty's with my KGO and they pretty much suck. I'd like to be able to test different flavors without filling a whole carto (I prefer cartos). Some others here have recommended bridgeless atty's.. ever try one of those?? Just curious

Depending on the problem you're having with the LR 510s that came with your KGO, you may be able to modify them a bit and make them work much better (flavor + vapor wise) for you. If you're getting a burnt taste when you know it's wet in there, I can almost guarantee you have a burnt wick. Scrape the mesh off the bridge in the atty and carefully pull the bridge out...the wick usually comes with it. If it doesn't, pull it out with some tweezers, carefully. Emphasis on carefully, don't mess up your coil!

Be careful not to over-drip with a bridgeless wickless atty, juice can go right through it, but I've found that four drops to start it off and two or three more when the taste goes off (after sucking without firing to make sure you don't have any gurgles) works out really well. If you do have gurgles when you suck without firing, fire away, you just got your coil wet again. Vape on.

I just got a couple Cisco 306 2ohm attys in today and I've been using one of them. Flavor is definitely different than the 510s that came with my KGO, though I'm still deciding whether it's for the better or not. I'll give it a few weeks to break in and put a review up. I will say dripping is nicer on the 306 than the 510, but mainly because of the wide hole in the drip tip I got (lol).

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the LR 510s are decent little atomizers, and there's definitely a learning curve with dripping that you get used to as you do it more. You'll very likely "waste" the same amount of juice in a 510 as a 306 or 901...so there's no need to wait, get practicing ;).

Angi, I got the Firefly again. It's pretty much a Riva 510 clone of some sort but it has a LED battery indicator. I guess I'm still into the lights/LEDs and whatnot. I am a beginner vaper and don't really care to get into the really expensive/large e-cigs or complex mods. I'm still trying to find my all day vape flavor. All of the juices I have are "ok", but nothing is like "WOW omg I love this!!"

I'd really like a good, fresh tasting green tea juice with a hint of menthol and sweetness. I actually have no idea what ohms the 510 attys I have are, but I know the Smartvapes ones are 1.8ohms.

If you like the dripping taste but still want a tabk try the above link. I posted it about a week and a half ago when i made it and hqve been using it since along with two of my coworkers. I posted some tips down further in the thread.

For some reason though it hasnt gotten much in the way of feedback on it, dunno why, its easy to make and once made the only fiddling you have to do is lift the sleeve to feed it every now and then...
