We've all done our fair share of bashing Canada Post over the years as we've patiently waited for our vapemail, only to be disappointed with having to wait another day (or over the weekend). But I've always been one to give credit where credit is due, and I'm totally shocked to be saying this, but this time (first ever) Canada Post has done a fantastic job, and exceeded it's own service expectation!

I placed an order with one of my favorite vendors on the afternoon of Wednesday January 23. The item was accepted at the Dartmouth N.S. Post office at 9:49 A.M Thursday January 24th. Guess what I have in my hands today at 10:15 A.M Friday, January 25th? Yup, my order that I placed on Wednesday afternoon! In just over 24 over hours from when the package was accepted at the post office in Dartmouth, N.S. it traveled just over 4,826 km to my mailbox! I am absolutely shocked and amazed that I got my order delivered in 24 hours! On a good day(s) I get orders delivered from B.C. in 2 days (on average 3 days).

Either I got extremely lucky with this delivery, or else Switcher is a commercial airline pilot and he flew the order out personally! Here's a screenshot of the Canada Post tracking page. I'm going to frame it because I doubt I'll ever experience this again!

Check this one out. This was my first order from canvape. Expected delivery was the 11th, they then pushed it back to the 14th.

2013/01/10 10:28 EDMONTON Item successfully delivered
09:26 EDMONTON Item out for delivery
08:59 EDMONTON Item processed at local delivery facility
03:07 EDMONTON Extreme weather conditions at this location; item delayed
2013/01/09 03:15 MISSISSAUGA Item in transit
2013/01/08 23:21 MISSISSAUGA Item processed at postal facility
15:46 BARRIE Item accepted at the Post Office
15:25 BARRIE Order information received by Canada Post

Extreme weather conditions was 2cm of snow over the course of the day. I was choked when I saw that at first. They pulled through though and even made it a day early from the original date :)

Maybe Halifax has it's own CP hub? Then it just flew straight to edmonton.

This is all speculation though

or it was sent priority...

Nope, Expresspost. Like I said, I'm totally shocked that it arrived in 24 hours! On average it takes an expresspost package 4 days from Dartmouth to my mailbox, but not this time. I have a theory though that maybe CP hired some new people along the line that weren't aware of the CP delivery expectations and processed the package quicker. Or...maybe Switcher DOES have some pull at the post office?

Mine looks very similar to that except that it shows at 1/24/2013 00:04 MISSISSAUGA in transit and hasn't updated since, but it is supposed to be delivered on Mon. I expected an Edmonton update this morning or tonight, but nope.

Mine has one more transfer after Edmonton so for it to be there Monday it really should have processed in the plant tonight.

Which vendor is this? I live in Halifax and was unaware of a vendor so close to me.

Its not just CP but the vendor that has knowledge of when to drop a package so it gets there quickly...

Time of drop could mean next morning or 2 days for expresspost

Like the package I ordered from Canvape (over $100,so free shipping)got it next morning(friday) even though it was scheduled for today :)
