So - I got my Microstick and I love it. The question is, though, what to use in it? I only have a few things that fit. I have a Phoenix Bully . .but it's got a threaded top cap that tends to come undone when I'm trying to remove the atty from the microstick. It also is not that great of an atty.

So I moved on to an Evod rebuilt with cotton microcoil. This works very well . .have to use a 510>>ego adapter, of course, but no problem. It will probably be my main device for the microstick because, the way I intend to use it, it would be much better to have a tank vs a dripper.

Then I was looking at my cyclone clone. Sure would be nice if the cyclone fit. It fits in the hole - but it's too short. It needs some kind of extender. Enter the mini vivi nova. I used to use these all the time and I still have a bunch of them laying around. The mini nova has a post that extends into the tank where the atty head screws on. Guess what? It's a 510 connector! The only issue is it has this "collar" around the top that makes it hard for most atties to get a connection unless they have an adjustable positive pin. A few swipes with a metal file took care of this collar and now all my atties fit.

With my 510>>Ego adapter, the mini nova's 510 connector sits totally clear of the top of the microstick . .without it, it sits just below the top - perfect for 16mm or smaller atties that are just too short for the microstick. If you're thinking of sitting the atty completely on top, though, you still are still limited to a diameter of maybe 18mm or something . . .everything I have ends up touching the button so no good.

Here is a few pics of what I mean (sorry, I took them on my phone and they came out horizontal) :

Here is the piece of the mini vivi nova you need:

Here is the atty on the post:

Here it is all together - snazzy, eh?

I said I'm "like a genius" . not that I "am a genius", lol. And, actually, I misspelled it on purpose as a test . .to see if anybody would notice. Congratulations - you passed!

That's a good cover, I'd run with that one... That's your story and you are sticking to it... :D Great idea though!!!

:D
Clever idea though (your mod). I'd also noticed the top part of a vivi nova has 510 threading but never found any use for it. Mounting a wick straight onto a PV doesn't make much sense ;)

Yeah; I've also notice eGo threads everywhere.
The threading on the kanger protanks are eGo.
The bases from miniprotanks are eGo both bottom AND top, so you can stack one base on the other and make a dripper!!
Same for the Evod bases, you can stack them.
The eGo-C cone base is eGo top and bottom also; I use that as a spacer/isolator to help keep liquid getting down to the mod.
