Hi all, this is my first post!

I'm 26 and have been smoking for probably 10-11 years now. I heard about e-cigarettes about a year ago (never tried them), but then completely forgot about them. My mom told me about a co-worker recently who has had good success and passed on a pamphlet. So I did some research on this forum for about a month and then finally bought my first kit.

My last analog was 3 days ago and I haven't had ANY problems. I've been vaping only since then, not 1 analog. Well, actually, I lit one up on day 2 for comparison and threw it out after 3 puffs. I actually like the e-cigarettes better!!

This isn't a "bragging" post but the e-cigs have literally been a drop in replacement for me! I've tried patches, gum, lozenges, suckers, and even chantix (which made me feel like I wanted to throw myself in front of a bus!!).

I do have a few questions if anyone can help.
1) How can I tell when a cartridge is empty? I noticed on one that I used for a whole day now has a metallic taste. Is this what happens when it gets empty?
2) How long should a cartridge last me? I used to smoke 1 pack a day and it seems that I go through 1 cartridge a day (based off cartridge starting to taste like metal).
3) I bought Vapor King and got 5 cool carts. Are the Wow cartridges better? I like throat hit and seeing lots of smoke.
4) Should I keep buying the pre-filled carts or refill them myself? Is it really worth it?

Thanks everybody!

Hi welcome to ECF there are a very large group of helpful people here!! I do not like the flavors of the pre-filled carts, I refill mine. And there are allot of diffeent flavors of juice out there to try :):) I would say that the metallic taste is a definite sign of a dry cart. Depending on how much you vape will depend on how long a cart will last you. Just make sure you don't let it get dry or you can ruin your atty.
What type of PV do you have? I don't know anything about the Wow carts.

OK
I bought vapor king, so the atomizer is built into the cartridge right? I got the pre-filled ones with my starter kit.

Just to bring you up on the lingo, I believe you have cartomizers. Cartridges are a different animal.

You have a 2 piece = battery + cartomizer
3 piece = battery + atomizer +cartridge (or using a cartomizer makes it a 2 piece)

A lot of companies that sell the 2 piece call them cartridges on their site, but they are actually cartomizers.

Cartomizer = atomizer and cartridge in one piece... so yes, you are correct.

Just wanted to make clear all the lingo...otherwise you will get some very confusing answers!!! lol

I had one analog the day I left my PV elsewhere. Oh well.

But what you say about liking to vape better, oh yeah! I actually had a craving one day to vape Tastyfinger. This is cool, that I'm craving vapes instead of smokes, but the noteworthy part... I was actually smoking a cigarette at that point.

Welcome and good luck. It's good to know that you're on your way. :)

As far as filling them, I do not believe the cap comes off those, not sure. Therefore, the easiest way to refill those is to use the condom method.

Step 1: Use one of the end caps that you pull off the cartomizer when new. Use the longest one.
Step 2: Fill the cap 1/2 with liquid
Step 3: Slowly slide the carto in, threads first - the liquid will be forced in.
Step 4: Pull it off and wipe dry.
Step 5: Done!

Actually, I take that back. Step 1 is to actually buy some juice...

Congrats! on starting your journey, and it is a journey. I believe what you have is the same as the KR808. I bought the Cool carts. They are ok I like a little warmer vapor than they provide but that's me. Refilling is easy. I just remove the top and refill with juice. The condom method the TheBuss mentioned also works very well and is easy to do. (I think its a little messy but again its a matter of preference) I wish you good luck and happy vaping.

Welcome. It's great that you've taken to vaping so easily.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong... but I believe the Vapor King is an KR808 battery.
So you can buy any KR808 cartomizers from any supplier. also I believe the 901 threads are the same too.

But TheBuss is correct, you can refill. What he described is one way to refill them. This is another way.

Just checked on youtube and found this. It definitely is an 808 and this is how to refill. Note that the title of the video refers to 808 AND VaporKing. Either method to refil is cool.

YouTube - How-to guide to refilling KR808D-1 or Vapor King cartomizers

The way TheBuss described is here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fe8A_O9Atn0

Hope this helps.

Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping, Jizzie. You did well to do your research on this forum for as long as you did. Even so, your journey to fine tune and narrow down what works for you best, is still somewhat of a trial and error process. But I can validate to you that it really is worth the effort, and YES, it's really that easy. When I began vaping, I wasn't thinking of it as a certainty, that I would be able to give up analogs. Sure, I had some hope of that. But having gone through the process of trying all the other smoking cessation products, as you did, I had come to the conclusion that in all likelihood, I would be smoking until I was dead. That was my "hope" or better stated, "hopelesssness" position. I'm so glad I took the effort to at least investigate this vaping idea. And in the same way you have experienced this, I too found out that I didn't even like analogs anymore after beginning to vape. I also tossed those I tried, after a couple or three puffs. Quite honestly, I kept analogs around (and still do) and would deliberately light one up every week or so, just to see if that sensation of no longer liking them, would pass. Much to my surprise and delight, it has never passed. I used that procedure, to give myself sort of a positive re-enforcement, that I no longer had to FEAR lighting up that first cigarette, or that it would somehow cast me right back into my former 2 PAD habit. Eliminating that fear, and the positive re-enforcement it gave me, has been quite beneficial to the whole process, for me.

Congratulations on your decision to give this a try and the very best of luck and success to you. The ECF community is a great source not only of helpful information, but positive encouragement.
