less than a week later and the uproar is almost dead...

are we really going to give up this easilly? are we going to just shrug it off and say:

"Meh, can't do anythign about it... just stock up and carry on?"

I don't not support stocking up... Hell, i have 19 bottles coming to me in the next few days... but what are we going to do about this?

are we going to be pathetic... ? are we going to be typically canadian??

Yesterday i downloaded and printed off every source & study that i could find available and i'm reading up everything i can and making notes and tabbing those documents up to hell, i may not be an expert, and i may not be a lawyer, but i am a researcher and if questions come up, i plan to be prepared to stand beside or slightly behind the experts and lawyers and be able to direct them to the documents that pertain to whatever bull.... HC is spewing so that they can fight back with intelligence and knowledge and facts...

what are you doing?

Jay, we haven't given up at all. If we're quiet on the forum, it's because we're waiting for news of note that we can share...and also because some discretion is being exercised. But stuff is definitely happening behind the scenes...in fact, we finally found a receptive firm! Just getting a meeting set up. Depending on how it goes, we could very soon have a suit initiated against HC on behalf of all Canadian vapers. That's the plan!

There's more going on too, but I'm not at liberty to share the details right now. I promised. But good stuff is happening.

Keep on vaping!

I just signed a petition and watched some videos about HC and the latest news, trying to come up with contingency plans like stocking up. I got a years worth and it makes me really angry that I am actually thinking to myself. "What if nothing is available after a year, maybe I should get two years worth!"

This is just so wrong and if anyone has any ideas or action plans to get things rolling in the right direction then count me in! I worked in management for years and this is a perfect example of why we need unions! Someone in management does not know what the h they are doing!

I havent given up at all Jay, I am still waiting to hear back from several people. I have yet to receive anything from anyone, So Iam resending every bit of e-mail back out every week until I get answers. I wrote To HANS and the NHPPA and this is the response I got, just received this as I was typing.

Hello, Ian;

I understand what you're saying, and here is my gut reaction. I
strongly recommend that you take yourself right into your MPs office,
and MLA's office, with several other voters, and share your story.
Always treat them as your friend, because they will do more for you as a
friend. Sometimes they will really go to bat for their constituents,
and now that we have an election approaching, they just may be even more
motivated.

You have such incredible freedom, as an individual, plus a compelling
story, to go right into your local newspaper and make a media event out
of it.

Groups like HANS, and the NHPPA, completely understand what you're
saying, because of our own experiences with Health Canada. Many of our
sick members have complained that they can no longer get the natural
health products they need to keep themselves well, and so we get this,
and to our members, we are saying the same thing. Go to your MLA, and
MP. Tell them. Sure, share the story with us, but we are only part of
this big picture...

Good luck to you!

I have been quiet because I have been fighting a terrible cold.

I don't have the money to stock up right now. :p I have written my letter to the deaf ears. Educated everyone I could about the bill, hc and their draconian ways. Sat back and thought about what I can do in the future to fight this.

It still angers me. I don't want to see it go down without a fight.

Someone told me (you know who you are) that we are poking a big bear who has 2 times the power as the mafia. When we fight these guys we should be friendly. not up in their faces because they can make life much more difficult for us. So remain diplomatic and friendly with this fight.

I too, have been googling, reading, bookmarking, and did I mention reading?

HC and our government put enough links, websites and go here and do that and oh yeah, go back over there that it makes it my head spin!

I also think that things are happening - we just aren't privy to them yet and probably won't be until the time is right.

Until then, we do what we can, pm when we find something worthwhile to whoever can use it, and prepare to help when we are called.

I've signed up 3 new vapers in the last week and educate them on what is happening. More and more people are talking to me about these things now seeing I have stuck with it...

I am still waiting for a response from the reporter I sent info to. The fight is just quiet here. I am in your face about most things and it usually gets me into trouble. It's taking me a lot of self control to do this one the professional route.

I've sent letters to my MP, and to all media here in Fredericton. News Papers, CBC, MP, Radio Stations all over new brunswick.... not a single response. I have helped at least 20 people take thier first steps to vaping.

I sent my questions to the election debate.... not even a response. Don't get me wrong there are bigger issues in Canada, but I'm shocked that the Govt isn't more open to helping Canadians with alternatives to smoking, just the savings in health care costs would be INSANE!!! It truely PO's me, the ignorance from the govt is insane.

rachelcoffe: I have worked in sales for years, I have the motivation, and would be happy to help in any way I can.

Jay: Keep up with this, we ALL need to stay motivated. I sure as heck haven't quit, and I am making sure others are aware of the non-sense going on by HC. I will NOT BOW!!!

Here is my letter to HC. I don't know if I feel better now or not!

Dear Penny,

I can't tell you how disappointed I am as a Canadian citizen who recently quit smoking by using an e-cigarette which is now being banned by Health Canada.

I thought the whole idea of Health Canada was to protect the health of Canadians. My family physician was impressed with all of the positive changes to my health by using the e-cig and I can't tell you how much better I feel. Now I will have to go back to smoking as nothing else has worked for me including all of the other nicotine based quit smoking aids provided by the drug companies. Please explain to me why this action needs to be taken by Health Canada. Cigarettes are sold openly and they contain nicotine along with 1000s of other carcinogens and chemicals? Should it not be my choice to choose the less harmless one?

I heard once that long term heavy smokers are less costly to the health care system because they die 10 years earlier and do not require as much medical attention in those years. I truly hope this is not a financial decision to do with OHIP budgets, big tobbaco tax revenue or pharmaceutical company profits. Does somebody really believe this is more harmful than cigarettes?

Thank you in advance for your consideration of the above and I trust that some serious careful consideration be made to this matter as it is affecting many Canadians long term health.

Sincerely,

xxxxxxxx

P.S: I want to live 10 years longer
