Went ahead and used the 510-510 adapter on the Old Goat, seems to work and pass juice ok.

1st coil/wick try I used 6/5 32ga. around 16ga needle with cotton wick. Got 2.3 Ohm, higher than I wanted but works ok. A bit cool, still warmish. Slow draw and get big plumes, fair TH, fair flavor. Still ok by me though. No leaking, great.

Will make next coil same but with 28 ga. I got with the RM2. Maybe I better up the coil winds to 10/9? Plenty of room. This thing is really nice. Hope to get down to 1.5-1.8 Ohms for a try. Should be warmer and better vape all around. This ain't bad for a first try though. Start somewhere.

I'll be glad when the Grande gets here in a coupla days.

I got my RM 2 yesterday afternoon. Previous experience with RBAs is with the A7. I was happy with my A7 but because of the raves here I decided to give the RM2 a try.

At first I was very disappointed. I made a coil, installed it and then took a vape. I didn't like the draw and I am still not comfortable with it but I'll give it some time before I start taping up the hole to make it tighter. I didn't get anymore vapor than I did from my A7. THe bottle I was working with was only about 1/4 full. I was used to blind squonking. I don't think I was feeding the coil enough juice which was making my vapor weak. It will take time to adapt to just squonking. I've learned to live with a vaping devise for a while before passing judgment on it.

This morning I filled the bottle and now I am a fan. I am getting great plumes from the RM2. The lower profile is a plus too. I find hitting the firing button before hitting on it works well.

Mounting a coil seemed no harder or easier than it was on the A7.

One thing I like on the A7 was that it was easier to remove the top cap because you could hold the base while turning the top part. The RM2s base is so low profile that it can be a problem. At times I've had to remove the whole RBA just to unscrew the top part.

I wonder how many vapers inhale into the mouth first then into the lungs or how many go directly into the lungs. This difference in vaping style makes a huge difference in the preferred draw that vapers have. With the RM2 with a draw to the mouth first, it feels airy to me. When I draw to the lungs it feels slightly tight. I cant draw to much when I go to the mouth first but when I draw to the lungs I can take a long vape and produce massive clouds of vapors.

I would like to hear from other vapers if they go mouth to lungs or directly to lungs. Perhaps that should be another thread.

Anyway, I am pleased with the RM2 and my A7 have been relegated to the stash bin along with assorted cartos, protected non IMR batteries, awful juice, half dead cartos and attys, condoms and juice stained vaping notes on scrap paper.

I looked into that question a few months ago and found a poll here on ecf with over a thousand votes. The question was mouth then lung vs direct lung hit when smoking. The results were only about a 1/4 of the voters take direct lung inhales. Comments stated that they did so to increase throat hit for the most part. Most people had never even thought about it though :)

Thanks for the information. The method used makes a huge difference to the hole size one likes on an RBA. I guess when people say they like a certain draw their preferred method of inhale should be noted.

Nice review LT. I am a mouth to lung type of guy.

Figure out a comfortable way to cover the air hole on the side with a finger, then blind squonk. :) But honestly, it took me only a day or two to adapt to just regular squonking and I no longer use the blind squonk method. I seriously thought I couldn't deal without the blind squonk, but I'm okay without it. Just gotta push a little longer...for like a 3 count and you're off and running. But at least you have an option if you find you can't live without the BS. sorry

If you cover the air hole, you don't even need to squonk - just take a quick pull without firing. I find this works better for me when the bottle is getting low on juice.

Thanks for the tip, maybe it will get that last little bit of juice in the bottle.
