To say that I'm overwhelmed is an understatement. I've browsed around a lot of sites, read the basics about different types of e cigs, etc, but it all may as well be written in German. I'm still so unsure of where to start or what to get. I'm absolutely certain that I can figure things out, but I don't want or need to spend a lot of money to do so. I don't want to buy into a kit that SEEMS to be great, only to desire something new, right off the bat. I don't have time or money for that.
I'm a casual smoker, but long-term. I've quit off and on, only coming back to smoking because, frankly, I enjoy it. I'd like to turn my habit into something that isn't quite as terrible, at least. I smoke light menthols, and I love the feeling.. however, I'm not loving the feeling of being punched in the chest every morning. I usually only have 4-5 smokes a day, but I yearn for and enjoy those breaks.
Anyway.. I've read up on the different types and what they all use, but I'm still overwhelmed. I'm not thrilled about something the size of a cigar, but I don't think that I'd like the short-term of the mini cigarette-style kind. I don't smoke in public, so something larger is something I will can to terms with. I see lots of recommendations, but.. I kind of just want someone to hold my hand, show me links, and talk to me like I've never heard of anything - because, well, I really haven't. I just know I need to stop smoking. My SO is also interested in an e-cig. I see lots of starter kits online, but I'm afraid to drop that kind of cash on something cruddy, especially x2. I plan on doing more reading, but it's just so much to take in right now.
Any advice? Anyone want to hold my sweaty hand? I've got to jump in eventually, I suppose.

Thanks, guys. I've looked at this $19.71 CE4+ 6-in-1 USB Rechargeable 900mAh Electronic Cigarettes Health Keeping Set - black / US plug adapter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping after a lot of browsing around for others' recommendations. It's a good price, compared to a lot of things I've seen, but I'm still on the fence to take the plunge. There are two in the set? Would it be appropriate for two people,or would two separate be a better buy? Is it all one needs to get started, minus the liquid?

This "kit" may seem a little pricey but if you divide the cost by 2 you get a lot of decent things for you both to try out for under 50 dollars each. https://www.canvape.com/product-p/ultwistkit.htm Yes they're Canadian but for what you'll pay elsewhere for less of a kit I think this is a real deal.

They're are some good juice options to try but you do need to create an account to view the e-liquids with nic.(the good ones)

Check out what's included, look at reviews for the different items included in the kit and make your choices, if you like what you see.

The 10ml size for liquid is a good place to start as you're sure to get some(maybe only 1 or 2) you both do not like.
Get at least 2 different nicotine levels in case one is too strong or another is too weak. Juice is usually the hardest thing for a new vaper to nail down. But you may be lucky and find a couple you both like off the hop.

Good luck to the two of you, enjoy the journey, congratulations on choosing vaping over smoking and a Big Welcome to ECF for you both!

Not bad....I would recommend getting spare clearomizers...those appear to be CE2's but not rebuildable, so if you burn the coil you either have to clean the bejesus out of it or are stuck sucking on a clearomizer that tastes like licking a charcoal briquette

It's a good place to start to get you in the door and get you vaping...from there you can upgrade...then those would become your backup

Honestly with these type (without the ability to charge as you use) you might be best getting two..while you are using one the other battery is charging, AND you have a spare in case something goes wrong...

This might help too

The 900mah battery "should" last all day so a charge every evening "should" keep you vaping. You may want to get an extra battery as vapers must always have a back-up. Same goes for toppers(clearo/atty/cartomizer etc.) Don't stick with lots of any one thing though in the begining, it's best to try a few diff. things to find what you like best and suits your needs closest.

The standard kits are incredibly overwhelming. I mean, I can READ about what everything is and means, but until it's all in my hands, I just don't think it's going to click. $100 is about the top amount I'd like to spend to get started, but less (a lot less) would make me happy.
I'm a stay at home mom, but he works 12 hour shifts + commute, so maybe sending him off with just one wouldn't last him. Hmm. Lots to consider.

B&M store in Tulsa, you will pay a little more but get to see and try what you're buying as well as some juices. I'm sure there are more stores in Tulsa, this is just the first one I came by. I would also recommend a vv kit, just my own experience though.

i recommend something like this:

iTaste-VV-V3.0-7-in-1-Variable-Voltage-Set - EgyHookah.com

it's a great little battery and you can use it while you charge it. comes with 5 clearos, so you easily switch juices.

that'll leave you 40 bucks for juice. that is more complicated as we all like different stuff. MBV is very cheap, order more than $15 and you get a 15 mil freebie (put your flavor request in the comment section), HOWEVER, maybe just wait until you get your kit and then go somewhere that you can sample juices.

oh yeah, MBV

I'd also point out off the top that if you're gonna vape cinnamon flavors or citrus type flavours, a lot of the units(clearos/tanks) won't handle them well. Protanks either regular or mini are made of glass and can handle these stronger flavs. A lot of folks also like the Evods too, they are not made of glass but work well with 'normal' juices and are very reasonably priced at fasttech.

Interesting about those flavors, though I hadn't really even considered what to try first. Noted.

That 94.00 kit linked above is actually not a bad deal for all you get, especially with 2 batteries and 60 ml of juice of your choice with it. Yeha near 100.00 but, you'd easily spend that and not even have the juice a lot of places.

Of course you can go through fasttech.com and get a lit and just as much juice for less, but it'd be a clone and that one is made by Joyetech. I'd personally do fasttech but, I know a bit about vaping and know what juices I like and don't like so, not quite a shot in the dark for me to get decent stuff out of FT.

Get an eGo C Twist starter kit with two batteries and spare clearomizers, tanks, or cartomizers so you have a backup and can experiement a little. Should be under $50 or a little above. Grab two different sampler packs from different vendors. This will allow you to sample up to 12 flavors depending on how many come in the sampler while allowing you to try two different juice makers. Again, should be $50.

Bam, you should have a solid setup with accessories and various juices for around $100. Don't forget to look out for deals and coupon codes which can net you savings. Most of the time I can get at least free shipping from using coupon codes.

The Roar vapor ones look nice, too, and more in my comfort spending level, though I'm not clear on the extras provided in the advanced kit. Having two small children jumping around like caged monkeys in my living room isn't helping my attention span, so I do plan on reading more carefully once they are in bed. The blue one sure is pretty heh, but I do like that the fast tech seems to come with 2 in each little kit? It doesn't specify that it has two, or I didn't notice. I could be wrong - it happened once before.

I like this one. I keep a couple on hand to sell to friends wanting to stop vaping. Much better tanks.

Oh, that one looks like a nicer version of the original ones I posted. So, one of those each to get started and some liquid would get us started? Any need for spare parts for that one? Or is that just a general good idea to keep extra... things... (I'm still learning here) on hand?
