Get an eGo C Twist starter kit with two batteries and spare clearomizers, tanks, or cartomizers so you have a backup and can experiement a little. Should be under $50 or a little above. Grab two different sampler packs from different vendors. This will allow you to sample up to 12 flavors depending on how many come in the sampler while allowing you to try two different juice makers. Again, should be $50.

Bam, you should have a solid setup with accessories and various juices for around $100. Don't forget to look out for deals and coupon codes which can net you savings. Most of the time I can get at least free shipping from using coupon codes.

The kit includes an 1100mah Winder (Variable Voltage Ego Style battery) with charger cable, a Kanger Evod of any color, a 10ml bottle of juice of choice, and a lanyard so you don't lose it or drop anything!

You get a tank (color you choose), a VV battery, and a 10ml bottle of juice and a little neck lanyard

Do the clear ones stay clear or get gross over time? I assume some maintenance would be required, but using vapors and such is a lot cleaner than smoking, I'd assume..
Yes you have to rinse them out

I usually rinse my tanks out after I finish a fill of juice just to keep em fresh...but your mileage may vary YMMV

Just another "kit" option in the "midrange".
I like FastTech - BUT the only bad product I've had were knockoff batteries, and bad knockoff clearomizers - and I'd be afraid of you getting some of that in your first kit!!
This one is "name brand" and VERY popular stuff - I think the EVOD for juice especially is far superior to the ones in your FastTech kit.
You'd need to go buy juice - most people here recommend MtBakerVapor. Personally, I find their juice has to SIT FOR AT LEAST A WEEK before I like it...but it's reasonably priced and they have a huge selection...

The standard kits are incredibly overwhelming. I mean, I can READ about what everything is and means, but until it's all in my hands, I just don't think it's going to click. $100 is about the top amount I'd like to spend to get started, but less (a lot less) would make me happy.
I'm a stay at home mom, but he works 12 hour shifts + commute, so maybe sending him off with just one wouldn't last him. Hmm. Lots to consider.

lol Thanks. I've used it all over the internet for ages. It makes me feel young, but I'm not sure that's a good thing anymore. The 90's will never die.

I am liking the second FT kit a lot, and if my SO does, we will likely order two of those. I'm not loving the idea of a lanyard vs a case. He's strictly forbidden to wear jewelry at work, and I think one could easily be broken in his pocket. A case for him and for myself (remember the caged monkeys I mentioned earlier?) would probably be better to have. I'm not opposed to ordering from different sites to get the liquid separately. Of course, I'm still very open to other suggestions, as I probably won't order right away. I appreciate everyone, very much.

Just remember, items ordered from China or overseas may take awhile.

In fact, I ended up caving waiting for an order and went to a smoke shop foursome supplies. I paid more but I have backups now which is crucial when vaping.

Oooh, didn't realize they weren't domestic. I've ordered lots of random things from China, and their engrish is just awful. lol Tricky tricky. I will definitely keep that in mind.

FastTech is China. Orders can arrive in 7-9 days though, which isn't bad - and shipping is free...
You will just need juice with those kits!

Don't know if you got this answered - the glass stays nice and clean - every few "fillups" you can just rinse it - there are a lot of threads around on cleaning your "clearomizer" or ProTank (the juice delivery in that kit is a copy of a ProTank clearomizer).

Hi!

ECF - The scariest place on the planet! It can be a little intimidating sorting all this out. But part of what makes this place so big is all these peeps here to help you sort it all out.

Ok, what have we got here? Two people in the household, one definitely wants to give this a go, we'll put the other one down as "curious" for now. Even one person needs two batteries - can't vape it while it's charging. And there's that curious person as well. So two batteries is a minimum for you all. With kits you generally get more for less $$$, rather than buying ala carte. But every kit is a compromise because the items in it have been pre-selected.

Before I go any further I would suggest FastTech is not where you want to go for a first time purchase. Support is a long, long away for questions or problems. And stuff from FastTech can be a crap shoot. A lot of it is good, but it can be a roll of the dice for inexperienced buyers.

Here's a kit I like for you -> *New* Kanger T3S Bottom Coil Clearomizer eGo Kit in'a Case

Two 650 mAh real Joyetech eGo batteries, two Kanger clearomizers, charger, AC charger adapter, car charger adapter, case. $62.00 You get to pick you 2 different battery colors and even 2 different clearo colors. (Color choices - lol. Yet another thing to consider.) A 15 ml bottle and a 3 ml sample of good quality liquids is included. And you get to pick your flavors on that too. Coupon code THANKYOU will get you 10% off that price. Shipping will be about $4.00

If you want to hear more about why I think this is a good one just ask. By the time I get this post up you may have already been bowled over by too many suggestions.

I'd love to.
He's actually the one who's been wanting to switch, while I've been on the fence. He's a much heavier smoker than I, though.

Just ran across this....gotta say WOW myself

$45.16 INNOKIN iTaste MVP 2600mAh Variable Voltage Rechargeable Battery with CE5 Atomizers - silver / with iClear 16 atomizers at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I'm still not real sure what that means! lol I'm learning, though.
Different "generation" clearmomizer, as the numbers get higher they better they got
The CE5+ clearmomizer are serviceable, meaning if you burn a coil or whatever instead of the old way, just chuck em in the trash and get another one, the new ones, you open up, take out the burned coil and put a replaceable one in it (ain't technology grand!)

Oh! I got you backward! lol

Ok, you figured out FashTech is China. Find yourself a good USA supplier or two first that you can count on. The Vapor Room (TVR) is one of those places. Registered ECF supplier. This place - and a lot of other good vendors - can get you stuff in 3 days with only standard shipping. When you start - and if you underestimate when you are about to run out of liquids, lose a battery, desperately need THAT THING - knowing places you can count on is a really good idea.

Those are real JoyeTech batteries versus knockoffs. Personally I know I can expect JoyeTech stuff to be dependable and last. Sure - here comes all the contrarians... I've learned that "where can I get the cheapest..." doesn't always work out to be such a great deal. Sames goes for the charger included in that kit.

I know you guys had a concern about size. Those are the smallest size eGo batteries. You will get up to 6 hours run time on each one before a recharge is needed. They always look bigger and fatter in photos than they really are.

The kit comes with Kanger bottom coil clearomizers. Those are one of the easier options for a newbie to figure out and fill. The heating coil in these is at the bottom. As long as there is liquid in there - and gravity - they work. When the coil stops working you only replace the coil - you don't toss the whole thing out. Short term, you can put the coils that stop working well aside. We can tell you how to clean them or even rebuild them. Overall these are easy to clean and refill.

For that matter, at the same place these are the replacement coils. $2.00 each -> KangerTech T3S Replacement Coil Unit There are different reason for how long a coil lasts but the spread for folks here seems be wide: One to two weeks on the short end, five weeks or more with cleaning.

Sure then some people will chime in "you can get them for only $1.69 at this place instead..." but initially don't over think pinching pennies. That can come with time.

Overall that's a more than fair price on that kit with brand name components, coming from a well known and reliable vendor on ECF, a 10% discount on your order with the coupon code, and the chance to try out some really good liquids right out of the gate.

That's the way I see it! :)

Oh, and you and DH get to pick your own battery color with that kit. lol

Keep in mind that this is an introduction for two people. Two batteries and one charger won't be enough to keep two people going . But it's certainly enough for one person, and enough for both of you to get your feet wet. With a place like TVR any second, needed order if you both get hooked is only 3 days away.

You also have a store in Tulsa that I have ordered from. https://www.vaporkings.com/Default.asp. Good luck & VAPE ON:vapor:

Yes, that'd be the one I've been looking at. We aren't actually IN Tulsa, but near enough that we go every week or two. They have a storefront right by the Sam's Club we hit for groceries, so it's not out of the way. I am just afraid that I'll drag my SO in there, and I'll come out of there a whole lot poorer than I went in. I know it's for the best to buy things for the long term, but the initial investment sure hurts!
