In todays" WSJ there is an article about ecigs by Mike Esterl. In the article Elaine is quoted as is Dr.Seigel. It is not a bad article. I just wish he had been more positive about ecigs. He comments that CASAA has received funding from ecig companies, but is mainly supported by ecig users. He also brings up the FDA warning of 2009. Maybe some letters by Elaine and other experienced CASAA members with good research information sent to the WSJ Opinion page?

I think most journalists who don't vape aren't really aware of the ecig cultures relationship to its vendors. It is not at all like the relationship between cigarette manufacturers and smokers. The feedback loop between ecig product vendors and ecig users is very, very tight and responsive. If a product is bad (or worse, bad for you) it is all over the forums / YouTube in a heart beat and the vendor(s) in question have no choice but to respond.

I think we also see a lot of of end-user developed ideas / prototypes and one-off-mods make it into vendor sold products which results in our vendors actually selling us stuff we want, rather than trying to convince us that we want the stuff they want to sell.

We are truly in the golden age of ecigs. I hope we can maintain the awesomeness of our product ecosystem once the big players step into the game.
