I found it on a silly pop culture site - B3TA : WE LOVE THE WEB

It wouldn't surprise me if it was made up (it wouldn't surprise me if it was true either, lol).

There are so many lies in Christianity it's hard to believe any of it at all.

I am totally shocked :shock::shock:. That anyone would think those good christians would tell us lies.

There are some people that actually live according to their christian believes and I enjoy knowing them. They are good people.

I had to teach my husband a lesson, and that is don't contract for work with someone that is praying over their work, while bidding on a job. Your going to get scamed.

Interesting. Accurate? Why not? After all there were sixteen Crucified Saviours Christianity Before Christ.

I came from a strongly religious Southern Baptist family and was taught that the bible was infallible, came from God himself. Being totally deaf (lost all my hearing at 3 years old .. true cause is unknown) I was very curious, wanting to know more, bored easily because back then there was no close captioning on TV/Movie, no internet, no phone for the deaf...nothing so I started to read more and more. My mind was overactive, always scanning for deeper things. I became interested in astronomy, archaelogy, mythology, legends, folk lores, religion, different races/cultures..even geology. I used to collect those yellow National Geographic magazines. I consider myself a free thinker with rational mind to objectively evaluate the evidence.

I came across Acharya S aka D.M. Murdock in 2001 and joined her discussion group.

Go to www.truthbeknown.com you will get to know more.

The sun-god religions were world-wide and told similar myths. The general mythological pattern was that the sun, creating itself miraculously by virgin birth, took human form on earth, taught important lessons, then died and was reborn and returned to heaven. Osiris in Egypt, Dionysius in Greece, Mithra in Persia, Krishna in India, Buddha in Asia, (these being only the better known examples), their stories all preceded Jesus by many centuries. And all were mythological metaphors for the sun-god. The Jesus story is only the latest iteration of the myth. That so many think it is the one true story is a good example of the adage: the victors write the history books.

The early Christian fathers worked so hard to expunge all traces of the early beginnings of the mystery religion they were trying to claim was totally "unique in all the world." It wasn't, they knew it

"What profit has not that fable of Christ brought us!" Pope Leo X.

info. on Allah:

Allah's origin :

Allah has got about one hundred "beautiful names". A poem from the 12th century B.C. grants to the Babylonian God Marduk about 50 names, coming from the defeated and assimilated deities. Most of these will qualify Allah.

The word Allah comes from the Sumerian divinity Lilitu, evolving in Lilith (the Mother-Goddess of the Hebrew), and then in Al-ilat (that of the Arabs), but also in El, God, in akkadian. One finds also in Arabic Ala, 'to be terrified'. The name Allah has certainly been the masculine form that the original name Al-ilat has taken.

Here it is again, I've just loaded it to photobucket Sandy, it might work for you now.

Sandy, do you think that karma could be classed as a natural law?
I've tried to answer this 3 times now and people keep stopping by and wanting me to work! The nerve of some people...I don't come to work to work! :)

Thanks for putting that there for me Kate. I have never heard that before, but I wouldn't be surprised. Constantine was basically the creator of the religion and many elements are incorporated into it from pagan religions.

To answer your question, I would have to say that karma is a law in itself, although the word law implies a lawgiver. :p It doesn't rely on any external force, but from within oneself. It could be compared to the saying, "give and you shall receive." or "you reap what you sow." The cause and the effect are present in the intial action itself like the oak is present in the acorn.

It's actions of the body, mind and mouth or behavior, thoughts and speech. Every action remains with us forever. We may be able to change our habits, thoughts or action, but the prior ones will always be with us.

For you does it correspond to ethical and moral behaviours that benefit nature?
I don't know if it really has anything to do with any preferred behavior. It includes both the good and the bad. We could only know if it is beneficial by the fruit (Vipaka) any action bears.

I don't know enough about it as I want to because I have a tendency to ask, "what is good and what is bad?" That, to me, is relative. A burning forest causes death, suffering for animals and destruction but later, it thrives in plush green grasses and new life. Kali strikes... :)

It is true that there is no letter "J" in Hebrew. My understanding of the spelling is unsure but it is pronounced "Ya-Shew-Ah" And God translates to "Ya-Ha-Vey" It seems that Ya-shew-ah means "Gods Savior".

As for the earlier question on re-incarnation, I understand it to be the coming back to earth after death as another person or animal, not just going to the afterlife.

For translations of the Bible from the original Hebrew and Greek you need a "Strong's concordance" to cross reference every word and not lose the intended meanings.

(sorry so long with reply, out of town all week)

I've bookmarked that forum Bryn, thanks, it looks interesting :)

I think I get what you're saying Sandy, it's not about good and bad in human terms. When I think of karma I tend to think of it as a natural law with constant truth beyond human intervention or enforcement. Maybe comparable with the laws of physics. It's mostly just a mystery to me - karma moves in mysterious ways ;)

Hi Vince, welcome back, I hope you had a good trip :)

Kate, I posted your question about how Emperor Constantine created religion for his empire on truth be known forum in General Discussion area.

Let's see if someone answers. I used to belong to Acharya S' discussion group called "Fun to Superconscious" in 2001 before it changed to yahoo style. I am not crazy about yahoo group discussion because it's hard to follow so later I found another one of hers so I joined in 2007, but never posted until recently! I know why I didn't... Shane's demise. Took me long time to come to terms with her death, couldn't connect with anyone/anything and I went spiraling downward in depression and sadness. I am okay now.

Anyway, can't wait to see answer to your question. :)

Someone from Italy answered! :)

I don't think so. It's true that Constantine at Nicea heavily modified the figure of Jesus to include the traits of many sun-gods, but the original figure of Jesus Christ was invented by the greek speaking Jewish community of Alexandria in Egypt (this is why the original gospels are in greek). I suggest you to read the chapter "The Alexandrian Roots of Christianity", in the latest Acharya book, Christ in Egypt.

Thanks Bryn, that's very interesting.

I suspect that the person known as Jesus was mostly real and did behave as a mentor or guru. The 'saviour' and 'God' stuff has never rung true for me, I'm fairly convinced that all the bells and whistles were added by politicos to impress and give authority to a system of control they wanted to introduce.

That forum looks very interesting. I'm going to try to spend some time reading there.

Kate, you've been banned :( I hope it's temporary. You're needed here in The Order of the Wholey Technofoggers. We will keep the light in the window for you to find your way back home.

Acharya answered my question (your question actually) from her forum. It's long and very interesting. It's up to people to read with an open mind.

This particular scenario was worked out by Dr. Hilton Hotema, who said the following:

Ancient man personified the Sun as Brahma, Krishna, Amun, Abram, Adonis, Apollo, Osiris, Bel, Malkarth, Mithras, Hesus, etc....

The ancient Hindus called the Sun "Kris." In their religion, Krishna was a personification of the Sun. As time passed this was forgotten, and Krishna evolved into an actual man, said to have been born of a virgin.

It came to pass that Krishna was imported to Europe, and the Greeks called him Christos. The Romans called him Chrustus, and the English called him "CHRIST."

The ancient Druids called the Sun "Hesus." At the Nicean Council the names were joined into Hesus Christus, and later changed by the English to Jesus Christ.

It requires only a knowledge of the name of the Sun-God in different languages to understand from whence came the name Jesus Christ....

Compilation of the New Testament involved much labor. The church fathers had access to all the ancient literature collected and filed in the great Alexandrian library, in which they did their work.

From that mass of literature they culled what they wanted and destroyed the rest.... (Hotema, Awaken the World Within, 315-316)

In his "Introduction" to Massey's Egyptian Book of the Dead, Hotema states:

We must review some ancient history to show how the scheme was invented and how it developed. The scheme was formulated in the Nicean Council of bishops, convened under the orders of the Roman Emperor Constantine and directed by him.

From the days of Julius Caesar down to Constantine, the Romans had permitted the people of the conquered countries to observe their religious systems and continue the worship of their particular gods. This course continued until the time came when the discordant religious waves of the east and west met with a riot at Rome.

Kristos, representing the Sun, was the god of the east, and Hesus, representing the Sun, was the god of the west. The bishops of the Kristosites of the east became worried by the increasing waves of doubt that flowed in upon them from the Hesusites of the west. By 324 A.D. the waves got so strong that the situation had grown tense and dangerous. Some action had to be taken for the preservation of the Empire....
Reliable details of this religious struggle have not been permitted to come down to us for good reasons. The Mother Church has been careful to see that they have been kept out of the history books and encyclopedias. People think they get the full story relative to everything in the encyclopedias because that is what they are taught in the brainwashing processes called education.

The particular details we have in mind here were well-known at the time, and were expounded in the valuable writings of Eunomius. That is the secret reason why his writings were not only ruthlessly destroyed, but also those of the Christian writers who attempted to answer his bitter charges relative to the fraudulent structure of Christianity....

The main factor of the bitter controversy which the Nicean Council sought to settle, was whether the Hindu Krishna of the east should prevail over the Druidic Hesus of the west, or both be recognized, both be joined, and both be worshipped under the united name, Hesus Kristos....
Acharya:

I find Hotema's depiction to be quite satisfying overall. However, it is obviously too simplistic to explain everything that coalesced to form what we know as Christianity. All of the elements that I have written about need to be brought in as well. Hotema obviously could not be terribly detailed in his simple and short explanation.

While I'm certain that the formation of early Christianity occurred as I have outlined in my books, with the input from Antioch, Judea, Alexander and Rome, and even though the name "Jesus" is not derived from "Hesus" but from the Greek Iesous, I nevertheless believe the Hesus connection warrants further investigation, as does the information purportedly provided by Bishop Eunomius. If we could get our hands on secret Vatican files and other texts and artifacts that have survived the immense censorial destruction of the past millennium and a half, we could likely find some very intriguing information. Alas, the destruction was indeed massive, and these files - if they even exist today - are undoubtedly well hidden away.

It's a darned shame that humankind is so dishonest and destructive.
