Alright Kate, now your just messing with me. Hahaha. Looks like maybe Lorem Ipsum. Something about the "truth not yet" and "voice of foundation"

Am I even close?

Where are all the Technofoggers? A little help? Anybody?

Blocked hot-linked image is now unblocked.

Gaia is
the primal Greek goddess personifying the Earth.
Gaia is a primordial and chthonic deity in the Ancient Greek pantheon and considered a Mother Goddess or Great Goddess.
Her equivalent in the Roman pantheon was Terra.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia_(mythology)

I have to mention that I've found out that the Black Madonna I mentioned in my first post doesn't seem to be the VooDoo deity I thought she was, rather a European representation of the mother goddess.

This is my fave Goddess named Sige. Goddess of Silence. She's little known. Just like me. I live in silent world since I am deaf and little known. ;)

Thanks Bryn, I've never heard of Sige, I'll have to do some reading.

Hathor (Ht-hr - House of Horus)

She was a goddess of many things, among them she was a:
  • Celestial goddess: The Mistress of Heaven
  • Goddess of love, music and beauty: the Goddess of Love, Cheerfulness, Music, and Dance,
  • Goddess of women, firtility, children and childbirth: The Mother of Mothers, the Celestial Nurse,
  • Goddess of destruction and drunkeness: The Vengeful Eye of Ra, the Lady of Drunkeness,
  • Goddess of the dead: Lady of the West
overall.. a woman who is everything to everyone... can never go wrong there :)

So is the Buddha I posted earlier not really Buddha, Tauki? Are Buddhas always skinny?

by technicallity... no.. it is not Buddha

in this day and age.. in the western world the hotei has become refered to as a buddha... the mistake is so common.. that even people in buddhist regions will happily make a quick buck selling it as a buddha.. but.. Buddha was a REAL person.. and any buddhist could happily point out that a man who fasted alot and then lived off the donated rice of others would definately be a bit more than just skinny..

as far as you'r posted pic... it's actually more aprapos in the thread than a buddha.. as stated.. buddha was a man... with an awesome philosophy on life.. but still just a man.. Hotei is an actual god.. and a rather favorable one i might add.. so no harm no foul :)

PS: still luvya Kate :)

Thanks for clearing that up Tauki. I was a bit dubious about posting Buddha on this thread, I'm sure he wouldn't have approved of personifications or detached/transcendent gods.

Hotei is a very friendly looking character, I'll have to do some reading.

Luv you too Tauki ... xxx

honestly i had to do a bit of research myself before i posted about hotei.. my aunt was very big into hotei and always corrected me when i mentioned rubbing the belly of her Buddhas for good luck... all she really ever mentioned was it was the chinese god of laughter and happiness and she pronounced it "hoytoy". when i looked it up i seemed to find it was actually japanese and pronounced more like it's spelled...

either way it still always gives me a giggle when i see people call him buddha.. so i guess the laughter part of him is still working :)
