So I love banana flavor, ave used it for months now. Went to my local vapor shop to restock and the guy warned me that banana would crack my tank. I didn't believe him as I have been using it for months with no problems. Well low and behold my tank cracked compeatly through this morning. Now I don't know what to do. Can I mix the banana with another flavor so its usable or
am i s.o.l. at this point?

I read somewhere tat the banana is even braking the glass ones.

It's difficult to check the veracity of unsourced claims, but to me that sounds extremely unlikely to be true. Glass is one of the most chemically stable ubiquitous materials out there. It is not a coincidence that it is widely used in chemistry labs.

Banana flavor will not crack a glass tank. Some flavors have a chemical reaction with plastic tanks that leaches the BPA in the plastic. If you have access to a glass tank for less- or sooner, then you can continue to vape the banana flavor.

There really is not anything that you can add which will stop the chemical reaction. I suppose its possible you could lessen the reaction - but I still wouldnt think it such a great idea to vape...

I Vape several Banana liquids from various vendors in glass and plastic clearos etc, never had any problems yet. I would like to see the recipe of the banana that cracked your tank and some data on why this guy told u that, unless theirs contained a citric flavor or a cinamon etc.

I've been Vapeing over a year using mainly same clearos.

There are several lists that name many flavors that are known to or may crack plastic tanks. There are also different types of plastic so some are impervious, some only get frosty looking and some shatter or crack. I used a strong cinnamon in an iClear 16 for 2 months and it frosted it. Used it another 2 weeks and the delrin tip literally melted when I gave it a bath in hot water. An EVOD that was similarly abused only frosted. Polypropylene is the plastic that syringes are made out of (and some carto tanks) and can handle/doesn't react to the more caustic flavors. I put the cinnamon, lemon, orange & strong mints in my Protanks now just to err on the side of caution.

Here's Mt. Baker Vapor's suspect flavor list:

I know from hanging out in the DIY Forum here that TFA Cola & Ripe Banana flavors will melt the rubber in syringes if they aren't rinsed off immediately so I can easily see how they could affect plastic tanks. I make a lemon & orange liquid that the syringe will try to jam up on but moves freely after I rinse it. I draw some air in first so it doesn't touch the rubber gaskets.
