As I was dual wrapping my Trident to .5 ohms the wick was just flaking/deteriorating. I'm concerned about inhaling this junk. I'm going to rinse it with water prior to juicing. I even tried torching it to see if it would stop. Anyone with similar issues?
XC-116 Brittle?

So I'm guessing none of you are using the XC-116 Ceramic wick? And I'm assuming this is normal.
Well i rinsed it to get all the exterior flakes off and soaked in in juice. Seems to be ok, does the flavor seem muted to you?
After a few dripping cycles, the flavor has definately picked up. Wrapped it with .8 x .1 ribbon kanthal around a toothpick 4/5 wrap both my nimbus and trident are exactly .5 ohms. Doesn't vape warm unless I mash the button on the Titan. Seems to be working fine. Maybe the Kiln treating process varied and I just got a brittle batch.
Mine definitely does the same thing. It is made of thin strands of ceramic so it is pretty brittle. I've noticed that my XC-116 does seem to be a bit more prone fiber breakage than the thinner XC-132... Not sure why that is.
