Don't throw it away! I received Nextel samples directly from 3M. I was aware of the neccessity to heat it. I have a butane torch to do so. My suggestion would be to buy a butane torch. Heat the ceramic red-hot and use it. If you're uncomfortable doing that, depending on the size/quantity you have, I could probably take it off your hands. Send me a PM if you're interested.

While the ceramic wick is the cleanest (IMO) flavor and easiest to wrap, it is produced in a factory using chemicals. It is neccessary to remove the traces of manufacturing before using this stuff as wicking. Remember, Nextel ceramic is not intended as a wicking material, but rather, as a heat barrier. Fortunately, for us vapers, it is an excellent wick, also.
