I guess I'm buying it at SnG? Do I need to buy "kiln-treated" or will a good burn of the torch do just fine?
Thanks!
I've done VERY little research on XC116, but I would stick with kiln-treated. (Just got my first order of kiln-treated XC116 a few days ago).

Where did you get it?
Only places I can find are SnGvapor and rbasupplies.

RBAsupplies. I've exchanged a few emails with the vendor, he's expanding his product lineup, but I don't know exactly when. I will say if you send him a message, he gets back to you pretty quickly (my response was less than a day). Might want to drop him a line to ask him about the XC132 if you're still interested in it.

This is where I remember running across your handle. Pleasure meeting you today at the vape meet-up and exchanging information and impressions.

SnGvapor is the only reliable source for heat cleaned XC-132 at this time and you will get prompt shipment. Kidney puncher has a high-temp silica weave from 3M XS-132 which I haven't evaluated as yet but is going into the round up with other media. I just received supplies this last week and will schedule it in to my rotation. It shares the same manageability as ordinary silica, similar to woven yarn. However, Nextel's excellent braid pattern should enhance it's durability considerably over ordinary rope weave. You will be able to thread it into smaller diameters using the technique I shared with you. Contact me directly if need be.

I mentioned I 've been testing XC-132 along with other high-temp wick media in an informal scientific study for many months. You should be able to thread it easily into 1/16" through 1.77mm (3/43", as ref'd to in some instrument screwdriver sets). As we talked about, this range fits into the slot of most Kanger's and many other clearo's easily and performs well. Although XC-132 does work in a broader range, the fit is not as precise requiring more effort (or technique) to introduce. I would urge you to try a sample to compare with alternatives like Eko of a similar cross-section. It will allow you to thread and re-thread coils in place easily. And so it's a good alternative to cotton in a build where you'd prefer to have more durability. Of all the synthetic media, Nextel is in my opinion the most flavor neutral. And it's wicking properties unequaled for flow (not saturation). Cotton and Eko excel in the latter.

I would glad to hear your impressions if you test either or both.

Good luck.

:)

K sad to report last news I had from Jeremy within the past two weeks is that RBA will not be handling it. There seems to be a sourcing problem. Jeremy's great people and very forthright, helpful. I would love to be able to rely on his company as another source for this product. However I do believe the difficulties he ran into are genuine and have to do with the nature of the supply chain for this material which is restricted at this time.

RBA continues to be a reliable source for XC-116 which has a larger cross-section. And I urge your support for this and all vendors of this wick media. It's exceptional.

Good luck.

:)
