I'd be happy to oblige, Classy, but I had to disable all signatures--there was just too much going on on each page for my eyes. I miss them, but it was very hard for me to find the relevant information with all those other things and colors and the new layout...

I haven't disabled sigs, but I've given some thought to using ABP to disable those URGLY subscriber orange things... but that's valuable info to me, so I've just left them alone. But they're huge space hogs, and URGLY.

I keep hoping that those supporting pumpkins will magically turn into ribbons--at midnight. :)

well, if you see they're in a mood it's very likely they are supporting members ;)

Not necessarily--I've seen supporting members with 'no mood' selection.

I kinda like those mood thingies. It gives me something to play with, when the forum is slow. Or, I can use the "sleeping" one when I've gone to bed... though I usually just leave it at "DOH" because that's my usual state of mind. :D

If you are a supporting member, that is.

However, obviously we are not adverse to making changes that make sense, as we get time to review them and look into the feasibility :)

We do listen, even if it seems sometimes we don't. After all, this is a community.

I'm really glad the "No Mood" thing is gone for us poor folk that have no money to give. Seeing that kinda made me feel less human and like a lower class citizen. Kinda like "yeah, you didn't give us any money, so nobody cares about you and how you feel." Thank you for removing them (at least for us), and please don't bring them back.

I've actually been really impressed with how much y'all have listened and done so much to make us picky things happy!! This is probably the most interaction I've had with mods and admin since I got on ECF nearly 3 yrs ago. Y'all really have done a great job.......and Sonics, don't remember where I saw it now, but I think it was recent, congrats on the promo to admin!! and maybe classy too!! (if that happened awhile ago, and is old news, please disregard. lol)

We know. We whine because... well, we whine. But this has been a very smooth transition, all things considered. Really. Thanks and, um, congratulations on your promotion. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person. :toast:

Well I just have to say I think everyone has done an awesome job. ecf, moderators, as well as all the people here that have learned and adjusted because they love ecf so much. I do not consider any of this thread as "complaining". I see it as just making ecf even better. Kudos to us all.

Maybe it's just me (I'm special that way), but darned if I can remember the old way of doing things.

I'm not sure if everyone saw this post from SJ which provides some additional details on the migration:

Hey y'all...

I've just come home after an epic two week adventure across the US in which I presented at the FDLI annual conference in DC at the start, and SFATA's annual conference at the end.

During my absence, ECF was migrated from vBulletin to Xenforo, and I want to take a moment to give you a behind the scenes.

This was an epic project, and my brother Toby did more-or-less the whole thing. Most forum migrations are pretty half-assed: the main objective is to get the threads copied over, and that's it. But Toby decided if we were going to do this, we should do it properly. To do this required monumental amounts of custom coding, database changes, rewritten plugins and reconfiguration, and Toby worked absolutely tirelessly to get this sorted. In reality, when we looked at changing the software, we figured it was a job that would take six months - Toby did it in a little over 4!

The migration itself took 48 hours in which he worked straight, and for days after he was tweaking and reconfiguring things as issues were discovered. Truly a herculean effort - I don't think I've ever seen him so wiped out.

Thanks too to our moderators and admins who have been superb helping Toby to get his ducks in a row over the last two months, and especially @retired1 who spent goodness knows how long going through the settings on the day, @Misty who did the usergroup permissions, and @j0ker who recreated all the forms!

There's likely going to be a few niggles (witness our server outage on Sunday), but ECF is now faster, cleaner and more awesome than ever.

So, thanks Toby (@flushdraw) for your awesome work.....

It's also worth noting, based on my own experience guess, that this was the largest Forum migration in the world. That would be over 14 million posts, over 200K user accounts, over 500K threads, plus blogs, galleries and you name it. EPIC! to say the least.

Well done!

:)
