I just want to be able to delete old PMs--and have them gone. Hard deleted--not hovering somewhere in cyberspace.

I'm thinking that conversations and PMs aren't the same thing. I don't recall PMs being searchable; conversations definitely show up in search results. Could be that there's a way to block that from the outset?

Forum searches. I do remember people wanting to be able to search their conversations, but I hope this is not the answer that was deemed suitable - unless they are only showing up in my searches or the person that I was having the conversation with.

Let's wait for the answer instead of chatting up the thread...

When you leave a conversation and opt NOT to receive any new responses, is the conversation actually deleted (vs. just not visible in your inbox)? If not, how does one delete a conversation? Please forgive if there's a drop down somewhere for this; I'm using an iPad and haven't yet found a "delete conversation" option. Thanks!

Me three. The language in the leave the conversation box (and choices offered) are rather ambiguous...

If I choose to leave the conversation and ignore future messages, will the thread be deleted?

dunno what that does really. I expect they can no longer pm you in that particular conversation, but dunno if it prevents them from starting another one with you

PM's are now called conversations. Different name for the same thing really, but they work a bit differently, as you've seen. They are basically private threads between you and one or more other persons. When you leave a conversation and tick the option to not be notified of further replies, then that is effectively deleted from your inbox. Yes, that person can message you again on a new conversation, unless you ignore them through your preferences. If you leave the conversation and tick the box to be notified upon further replies, then it is deleted until (if) the other party/parties reply again, then it's back. As for searches, you can only search the conversations in which you are involved; you cannot see others conversations, nor can anyone else see yours (again, unless they are part of the conversation, naturally). Conversations are still private between you and the person(s) you are conversing with.

Hope this helps! :)

So, who all sees ads now?

Before it was only when you're not logged in.

Now it appears they are present for those logged in also?

Do supporting members see ads now too?

Still being worked.
Sorry if i missed it somewhere, but was there ever any further clarification given about who see's ads and who doesn't?

Seems the mobile version of the site only shows vaping.com banners (at least for me) whereas there are regular banner ads on the full site.

Still wondering if supporting members are also seeing banners?

Pretty sure the powers that be know this, concerning the links opening or not in a new tab. I haven't fully explored this, but it appears that links outside ECF are opening in a new tab, but those linking to something on ECF aren't. I know it's bein worked on, just thought I'd toss out the observation in case it helped anything or anyone.

There is a discussion on this, perhaps in this thread?

I just learned to right click the link and check open in a new tab. (There were some other solutions mentioned, I believe.)
